Building off the other thread, what has your experience with your health insurance been like? How much are your monthly payments, deductibles, and co-pays? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

I have a platinum plan through Kaiser Permananente, 250 deductable, 2k max out of pocket per year, premium paid for by my work. 10 buck copay for office, 25 for specialist, 100 for ER, refundable if admitted, 90% coverage for hospitalization and such up to max out of pocket. 7 bucks for prescriptions, and a modest vision plan as well. _________________ “We must always take sides. Was amazingly great until 3 years ago (still same job). Now it's basically catastrophic insurance. Crazy deductible. Crazy co-pay. It's actually cheaper not to claim insurance in several instances if you don't claim more than your deductible for the year.

Satisfied. $300/month for the family, $500/member deductible, max $2,500/member. $10 per visit, $25 for a specialist. It is an HMO so you have to make appointments in advance. We were paying $1,200/month for a PPO. It is Ventura County Healthcare Plan and all of their facilities are new or recently remodeled. I typically see resident doctors and I feel that they give more thought and concern than most doctors with 15+ years experience. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

I have Kaiser. $0 co pay doctors visits and emergency. $0 monthly premium. $1.25 generic meds. $3.25 brand name. Don't have to stand in line for medication refills. I order online and they're sent by mail. There are more benefits. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Very much. I have an industry health plan through my union. I pay $600 a year for benefit breakdowns that are pretty much a mash up of what others have laid out here. And I am very lucky for it, because our kids present a collection of potential health costs that could otherwise be an overwhelming financial burden. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Does the insurance company ever deny your claims? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

most people on my plan are happy, however, my dental doesn't cover deep cleanings (what?) and my VSP does nothing for contacts, which is not unique, but damn that's cold _________________ "All wars are civil wars, because all men are brothers."

A little over a year and a half ago I had a COPD attack, very scary, couldn't breath. I honestly thought I was going to check out.
Emergency took me to Daniel Freeman hospital. I stayed 2 days, transferred to Kaiser Cadillac for 3 days. I paid $0 dollars.
Other than COPD and Arthur in both knees I'm in good health, heart pumping like a oil well in Zaire, blood pressure constant, all organs healthy.
In addition I have dental, extractions, cavity and cleaning every six months. Had a tooth pulled that called for a oral surgeon. $0 dollars. I've known my dentist for years. I know people in the home care business and I urge them to send the clients to him. He deep cleans my teeth for $100.00 _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Glad you're ok. Leave a note to your son with your LG info...I and the community would appreciate hearing, you know, in case something more permanent took place...

All LG members. I appreciate your concern. It's truly heartfelt.

$271 a month PRE-TAX for Kaiser Permanente for the whole family. Deductables are pretty low -- something like $20 for an office visit and $10 for a prescription. Always had great, timely service and had all my needs met. Referrals are easy, and they're quick to do diagnostics tests. For instance, I have ongoing lower back problems, and they were quick to refer me for an MRI, and to a neurosurgeon for evaluation & assessment. (Compression fracture from my old bike racing career, and resulting disc problems & stenosis. Not much that can be done at this point.) Been with KP about 25 years. Also helps that my wife is a provider for them.
I got none. I get my healthcare outside the country since it's a lot cheaper. _________________ (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) ʕʘᴥʘʔ (⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■) (┛◉Д◉)┛( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽

Aren't you in south FLorida? Do you sneak over to Cuba or something? _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel

No. My parents are from Honduras. So, plane tickets from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale to Honduras is pretty fair for a 2-way. I do my dental work over there and same with buying prescribed drugs and injections that we bring over to the U.S. Plus, public hospital visits is "free" while the private ones are pretty cheap.
All that and visiting family and vacationing.
$300+/month for health insurance is too much for me. _________________ (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) ʕʘᴥʘʔ (⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■) (┛◉Д◉)┛( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽
