If I redo this draft with THT in it, I’ve got Wiseman #1 and THT #2.

No way I’m trading THT for Edwards straight up

He's leaps and bounds ahead of say Aleksej Pokusevski who OKC took at 17 in terms of body and BBIQ, and I like Poku's long term potential. THT looked better than Edwards tonight.

It would be fun to see what THT could do against college competition. But I do think being under Lebron's wing has likely played a part in his development.

That's why I had him ranked 15th in his actual draft.

Give Aleksej the year that THT had to work on strength and slow the game down a bit.

He's among the youngest in the draft too, and the scariest.

I'd rather not. Iowa St. didn't put him in the right position (but at least they ran a modern offense) and blue chip teams would let him play undisciplined.

so basically we won the championship and got the #2 pick in the draft! lol..

what year was it when we won the championship and also had the #1 overall pick and what was the trade that set that up? 1980, 1981? I can't remember.. but we pick James Worthy I believe.

bananas.. setup that 80's dynasty..

maybe THT is our James Worthy!

From what he’s shown, his skill set and upside...I’d say outside the lottery to about 20. The fact he can play and learn with this team and when it’s time to be vaulted into a 35 min role, he will have a few years under his belt.

He not only looked better than Edwards last night, but he looked better than DLO as well. Not sure he’ll end up with a better career than anyone in the top 3, but the Lakers are on the verge of landing on a goldmine.

Based on his play this second half of calendar 2020? If the Lakers had drafted him as, let's say, a 7th pick, and he plays this way after one year in the NBA? I think I'd be pretty happy with the result. Hard for me to argue any pick position where I'd be disappointed, in fact.

For last year he’s definitely behind Zion, Ja, maybe even RJ Barrett. Coby White and Tyler Herro ahead of THT?

I'd take THT above Barrett, White, and Herro. Easy decision considering the decision now.

But out of his draft? As I mentioned before, I had him Top 15.

One NBA scout thinks Talen Horton-Tucker would average 20 points per game on a team that isn’t the Lakers

Herro played significant minutes for a team that went to the NBA Finals. THT has shown flashes in limited minutes. As I write this, his total minutes in the NBA, regular season and playoffs, come to just 137. I like some of the things I see in the kid, but come on.

Herro plays significant minutes for a team stacked with playmakers at wing, PG, and center, so he doesn't have to self create that much, and stick to a simple job.

So what? THT has now played 147 minutes in his NBA career. Herro has played more than ten times that many minutes and is now starting. I hope that THT lives up to your expectations. That would be great for us. But until he actually starts to do it, it’s just a hope.

Easier for a guy to a job focusing on one skill and the team helping out with the rest, as opposed to the guy expanding on his skill levels to do multiple things on the floor.

Hence, the minutes disparity.

Big difference between project type players and guys perceived as ready contributors.

I thought we struck gold with THT but then Trent makes THT look like a bad pick. Trent #37, THT #46.
