Just saw him last Monday at the Hollywood Bowl.

Really bummed out about this.

RIP

One of the great icons of my generation. I was never a huge fan (same with Springsteen, the other great American rock icon of my generation). I'll remember him most fondly for the Traveling Wilburys, though obviously he had a lot of other great material. He was part of the fabric of my generation.

Just heard news from Jamie Maggio of all people. Sucks. One of the biggest. Had hits in 70s, 80s, and 90s.

RIP.

I would have thought he was in his 70s. Only 66? Wow.

I wasn't a huge fan, but I enjoyed his songs whenever I heard them on the radio.

He still has not died, although it sounds like it's just a matter of time, like minutes or hours. He's apparently brain dead, there is a do-not-resuscitate order, and he was taken off life support either late last night or early this morning. Sadly, I have some experience with this, being in a hospital room where you know that there's almost no hope for a person you love. Once taken off life support with no brain activity, it usually takes less than 24 hours for the person to pass away.

My Mom went through palliative care a few weeks ago. It was rough, but she had almost a week of friends and family coming by and hanging out at the hospital to share stories and reminisce. She actually was conscious a good couple of days past what they predicted, and once she fully slipped under she passed within 12 hours or so.

Sad to hear this about Tom. It's really odd considering I almost went to see him last week at the last minute. He was one of those guys I consider part of the roots of my generation of music fan. As others said, I wasn't super into his music but always enjoyed it and felt like he was one of those whose sound was influential.

RIP Tom

Thanks my friend. Been a rough few months, but ultimately she's in a better place and went on her terms surrounded by love and support.
