Title. Reasons below

BI just isn't ready for it to be "his" team. Maybe in a few years but as of right now, he can't even beat anyone off dribble, he only goes right, and he's an inconsistent shooter.

Lonzo needs to learn that fast isn't the only pace the game is played out. Stop launching it ahead when there's nothing there. I'm still going to give him a pass thought only because of the possible injury.

Julius Randle should not be starting, 4 years later and still no improvement. Seems like whenever the ball goes into his hands, his brain goes from 0-100 without a clue on what to do with it.

Larry "passive" Nance. Seems like a great guy but outside of flashy dunks this guy just cannot ball. He's too passive, can't hit a damn layup, and he shouldn't be ahead of Kuzma on the depth chart.

Slowbac is just not the right fit for this team. Want to say more but honestly, if we're going to be an uptempo team his style of play just doesn't suit us.

JC. Yeah, not even worth talking about.

I still have hope that the struggles of Lonzo and Ingram is due to not knowing the system and what Walton wants to do.

Spot on. I can see why they signed Bogut, Zubac should spend the whole year in the G-League.

Randle is in better shape but he was a -13 last night. They let him handle the ball way to much IMO. He should be around the basket getting rebounds. His defense is terrible.

I think Nance will be OK..but should not be ahead of Kuz.

I do not think JC and Randle will be on Lakers next year

Look at how Jokic and Towns where out there hitting 3's, when your 5 spreads the floor like that it opens everything else up. Lakers will be fine and will look completely different when Lopez is out there

The problem with this post is timing. The fact it has come after we have proven, to some, that we suck, Lopez has gone from making us that much better, to the key to our success.

There are few things that drive hopes and dreams to such an extent as the unknown quantity.

you have a group of young guys who never played together work the kinks out in these preseason games, I love that Ingram wants to be aggressive but he needs to slow down a beat and let the game come to him rather than try to force it once that happens and Lopez gets out there who will move the ball around more the team will look alot more poised

Having watched Lopez over here in the East for close to a decade, he's not necessarily a ball mover. He likes to score, but thankfully, unlike our unproven options now, he can do it pretty efficiently. I just think Ingram is miscast as a #1 option. I think on this team, he could be even a 3rd scoring option behind Brook, and even Kuz/Jules (whichever steps up on a given night).

Katy bar the door if that's true. Someone must emerge or else it's probably worse record than last year.

If the pick is #2-#5, it's the Sixers pick.

Anything else, it goes to Boston.

With Ingram/Randle operating iso's in the paint, Brook is going to have to be more of a focal 3-point shooter and camp out by the 3-point line to give the Lakers any semblance of spacing.

The Lakers need some NBA level shooters.
The only ones now are Lopez and Kuzma.

Lonzo and Ingram are not elite level shooters.
Randle and KCP have to improve.

Lonzo and Ingram are a long way off from superstars.
They have to learn to shoot at a decent level first.

Kuzma might reach star level before them.

Not to mention there was no idea what “success” is. Is it winning 25 games? 30 games? Those are the kinds of “successes” that Lopez has been the key to.

Playoffs are out of the picture now since Lonzo wasn't what most people expected. I guess success this year would be anything over 30 wins. Hopefully, when Lopez and Bogut are back in the lineup, they will give the Lakers some much needed veteran presence. Deng looked like he could be a contributor off the bench even though it was only a very small sample size.

Wow you even beat me with that quick pessimistic quote, I'm still willing to give them a few more weeks before I bring down the hammer. As far as Bogut good luck if he can stay healthy for more than a few games a season. The same goes with Lopez and his never ending back problems.
On the positive side I like this kid Bryant, and the way he moves his feet. Put in Hart and see if he can make some impact too.

Yes, after dropping some threes and 20 point games maybe people will shut up about the trade a little bit.
