I would rather see a 1 on 1 round robin tournament to crown the king of the hill. That might actually mean enough to get the players to play hard.

Imagine the matchups:
LeBron vs. Kyrie
Steph vs Westbrook
KD vs Westbrook
KD vs LeBron
Giannis vs Kawhi
Harden vs Wall

Those dudes going at it would be infinitely more entertaining than a couple "teams" hot dogging it and conceding baskets.

Not really. It's an exhibition game that showcases the talent in each conference. There's also an underlying competitiveness for each conference to prove their supremacy. But when you have maybe 3 legit all stars in the eastern conference then you have to come up with dumb stuff like this.
