Per Shams
Quote: | The Los Angeles Lakers plan to hire two-time NBA All-Star Antawn Jamison in a scouting role, league sources told The Vertical.
Jamison, 41, will work in the scouting department under Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson, general manager Rob Pelinka and assistant general manager Jesse Buss, league sources said. |

I'll try to reserve judgment but this just another "keep it in the family" type move. Doesn't mean it can't be great I guess. |

Lol, it's barely even a "keep it in the family" type move - Antawn was a Laker for what, the one miserable season with Dwight, Nash, D'Antoni, and Kobe's achilles injury? |

Congrats. I thought he was the sharpest one on Spectrum last season, not that that's much of a compliment. |

Good for Antawn. Hope he excels at his new role with the Org.

Yeah but he's a regular on the sportsnet team.
I'm just saying, I hardly doubt they signed Antawn because there is not a better scout out there and more because we're familiar with them. |

Ha. Kuzma needs to get in Antawn's ear. He's got a lot of young Antawn's tweener game in him. Hope they team up and it's not just limited to scouting. That might help Kuz navigate between the 3 and 4 spots better like Jamison used to. |

Not a fan. Can we just get the best available people? Who are we going to hire next? Byron? |

Scouting isn't really the same as say coaching or being a general manager so I don't think he'll have a hard time but I understand where you're coming from... |

Who would be more qualified than someone who spent years in the league, was an all star talent and was a pro's pro's?
Maybe he'll do great in his new role, maybe he won't but acting like Joe smo isn't fair. As they say, game recognizes game |

He was the best at slipping screens I've ever seen.
Imparting his mastery of playing off the ball might be beneficial to Ingram, too. Of course, he's gotta make shots.

Yeah I like that comparison. Hopefully Kuz will be better on the defensive end. |

First he signed with he Lakers, then works at Spectrum now a Lakers scout. Maybe he's a big Lakers fan. That's why he wants the job. It's his dream job to work for the Lakers. |
