I won't deny he's been a great player for a long, long time but the Lakers don't need to be chasing stars on the wrong side of 30 at this point. The CP3, LeBron players from that era just don't fit the timeline tbh esp when younger franchise players will be coming available the next year and a half in FA.
Cp0 has been great next to Harden. I could see LeBron having a great season next to Paul. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Just too bad the team that is still sitting on top will knock out both Houston, and then us because four of a kind always beats a pair.
This front office won't sign average players to big contracts....the way I see it is they get a home run or strike out. Better to maintain that financial flexibility and be a player in the free agent market.
Best case scenario is sign PG and resign Julius to a reasonable contract. Fill in the roster but save 1 max for 2019. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

This. You naysayers are corrrect that endorsement opportunities are more prevelant than ever. However, there are very few inner city opportunities in OKC and the exposure they provide. There are countless more car dealerships in LA proper not to mention expos from LA to south Orange County begging for a draw to their corner of the room. True, Kevin Durant made A movie, albeit somewhat iffy in terms of its production value or advancing the overall outcome of advancing his KD’s reputation. How many lead roles is George pulling in as 2nd fiddle in OKC? This is his shot at being the star for an up n coming team to which Hollywood is desperate for. I think many of us are misreading the room here.
Paul George has a national ad campaign with Gatorade and that was playing in Indianapolis. What Laker has a national ad campaign? Lebron’s company has a prime time network show living in Cleveland. “We’re LA” stopped being relevant over a decade ago. Now it is all about putting together winning packages. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

I don't think the moves Cavs made are game changers for Lebron to stay in Cleveland. I think Houston could be a better option if they can make the room for him. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

They are not. Some just try to be negative 24/7, just ignore

We need "We want Lebron" chants today.
No we don't.
the guy calling the shots wants him.....my guess is he wants him much more than any other player.
I would love to have him here. But I think we paved the way for him staying in Cleveland.
I don't buy the argument that we paved the way for him to stay in Cleveland.
The Cavs FO did that, and they did a great job.
They made multiple trades, also getting Hill and Hood, and were prepared to make a deal for DJ had we not acted.
So the Cav's FO deserves credit for possibly paving the way for him to stay, not the Lakers.
We stepped up as we saw an opportunity to create flexibility.
Magic and Rob must have used this word a dozen or more times in the press conference.
It's not just about this off season.
They will go hard after LBJ and PG.
We may get both, we may get just PG, we may get neither, but we're in good shape moving forward, because we have, wait for it... flexibility moving forward.
Clarkson is a nice player, but at 12.5 and 13.5 moving forward, he was overpaid for what he is. Maybe not for a team like the Cav's but for a team in need of stars, his salary was potentially blocking us from adding them.
I love Nance, but he will be a RFA next season, and his 7 mil cap hold in 2020 could again keep us from using that money to add players of real impact,
So we moved them for expirings and a pick. A pick that will be on a rookie scale contract for 4 years, allowing us to add a role player (like JC and Nance are role players) at a much lower cost than keeping JC and Nance.
It was a really good trade for both teams, each got what they wanted.
It's not LBJ or bust for the Lakers this offseason.
We're in great shape moving forward. _________________ "Rangers lead the way!"

I won’t be shocked if we can’t get PG or LeBron and we sign Nurkic to a max offer sheet
You are tapping into Jim buss’s mind like no one ever has.
What about Aaron Gordon?
He could get the max, but I don't see it happening. Everyone knows that the Magic will match any offer. No point for the 5 or so teams with enough cap space to actually tender him that offer sheet and freeze that cap space for a few days just for Orlando to match. I see him negotiating with the Magic for something around the $20 million mark.
With All-Star tomorrow and Paul George about to hit free agency, it’s time to address the belief that SoCal superstars all want to come home when its time for a new contract. Is it myth?
“There’s definitely some truth to it,” Klay Thompson said.
Klay should be the target over George imo. Timing matches up better as well. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I think you're really underselling the Lakers remaining young players (and the other FA who would undoubtedly join Lebron in LA), and/or overselling the players Cleveland acquired.
But that's my opinion, and who knows what Lebron thinks.

You don’t think PG13 will leave OKC/WB but Klay will leave KD/Steph/dray? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
