Maybe we can do a 3-team deal with CHI and IND.

LAL out: Luol Deng / CLE 1st / Future 1st / 5m cash/Zubac
LAL in: Al Jefferson (4m guaranteed next year)

CHI in: Luol Deng / Cle 1st /Zubac
CHI out: Omer Asik

IND in: Omer Asik /LAL future 1st/5m cash
IND out: Al Jefferson

Or you can cut out CHI and deal Deng for Stephenson/Jefferson. Stephenson has a team option for next year.

no thanks. thats a lot.

Yep. Two draft picks to shave three million in space is way too much.

Also, any trade involving the Cleveland pick and Deng will be less than ideal for any acquiring team. Deng won’t be traded until July 1st and the draft is in June.

Whoever takes on Deng with the Cleveland pick won’t be able to actually draft the guy they want because the Lakers will have already drafted the guy that they want.

The Lakers should trade that Cleveland pick to an ambitious team with hopes of being much better next year for a first round pick next year.

If they do that, they can trade an actual pick (with Deng) that a team can actually draft themselves.

All it takes is for a team to fall in love with a prospect

I hear you, but anytime you trade a pick to a team they generally want to pick the guy they want, not have the pick made for them. But you’re not wrong.

I have no idea what the Lakers were thinking with that. Why release someone who can help your team win?

I mean if Luke and the staff knew Brewer was still relevant as a player they would have promised him PT right? I don’t recall Brewer wanting to play for a contender just a opportunity for PT.

Lakers were clearly not going to resign Brewer. Did the honorable thing and let him audition for his next gig on a team headed for the playoffs who had a role for him. It was the right choice.

Never liked the fit of James and Randle at the starting forward positions.

If Randle starts (and he should), he should start at Center with James at PF.

If Lopez comes back at the room exception, he should come off the bench — with Ball — and Hart and Ingram should start in their place:

PG - Ingram - Ball
SG - Hart - (Ball)
C - Randle - Lopez
PF - James - Kuzma
SF - George - (James)

Ok Neither Ball or Ingram will come off the bench because will start no questions asked in the words of Magic.

It isn’t Magic’s call. Remember how badly he sucked as a head coach? Let your coach coach.

I feel the same way when you guys say Ingram comes off the bench

Mr.Untouchable off the bench

Ball would benefit the most from coming off the bench. He’s also the guy who least deserves to start (over Randle, Ingram, and Hart).

No shame in making him beat out one of those dudes.

Definitely agree

Yes, solid move by the FO, could buy them some good will.

I get letting Brewer go to another team... I just hope PG is already locked in because letting him fill the Roberson role is something he can actually do.

Dumbest move ever if they get to the conference finals and lose PG because of this.

He had a stretch where he played well with us. Then he went back to himself again.

Brewer is not a difference maker. If they make the WCF, it won't be because of Brewer. Geez.

But even when he was playing well he wasn't hitting 3s. Aside from the Rockets game

If George is “locked in”, we are facing some serious tampering charges.

I don’t ever recall Brewer being engaged with us like he has with OKC, he’s apart of a winning team now and his presence is felt more consistently.

I have no illusions of Brewer being great... but having a long defender who can't shoot is something he can reasonably simulate. It's really stupid to let him go to that specific team if you think things are still up in the air. Letting him go was totally fine with me. Brewer fits that role... as long as he doesn't have his hands on the ball (which Westbrook mostly prevents) he doesn't cause you that many problems.

Yes and LeBron, Wade, and Bosh just randomly ended up in Miami and CP3 randomly ended up in Houston.

Chris Paul to Houston was specifically sketchy. But hey no one bats an eye cause they are not the Lakers.

I personally believe in following rules... however, if no one else is following them... I'm not going to be the only fool who does.

I don’t think that you understand tampering. What Laker player is George tight with and wants to join?

And this is why every professional cyclist was doping once upon a time, and why probably 75% of baseball players were on the juice in the 1990's and 2000's.
