Whatever. My point is, IG, just because Player X on a random team says something, doesn't mean all players huddle together in a secret meeting underground at 12am on the 3rd Sunday of the month to discuss their lives and future decisions. Or even a group chat of 450 players on a Slack channel or forum.playersground.net.

Read the last paragraph, of the article he says eventually it’s up to PG and what’s best for his family... why are you trying to argue against McCollum saying that George is coming to LA? Does it bother you?

Could be that McCallum is simply trolling lakers fans. Never trust a Blazer.

A long time Laker fan trolling Laker fans doesn’t seem likely

Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka told The Times on Friday that the Lakers' front office is constantly in touch with Julius Randle's representatives, and there has been "a mutual exchange of interest and hoping that we can work something out for both sides."

Randle's camp is unsure of how mutual the interest has been.

"We still have no indication of where Julius stands among the Lakers' priorities, or if he is a priority at all," Randle's agent Aaron Mintz said Saturday in response to Pelinka's comments. "We are looking forward to the marketplace in July, when we will get a clear picture of Julius' future."

That marketplace is expected to include the Lakers. They'll make him a qualifying offer in order to retain his rights in free agency. Then Randle, whom the Lakers drafted seventh overall in 2014, will become a restricted free agent once the league year ends. The Lakers must wait, just like the rest of the league, to offer him a contract on July 1.

. . .

Pelinka said he does not have an upper-limit figure in mind for Randle.

"I think going into a process with kind of a position of entrenchment or here's the thin red line that we will not cross isn't necessarily the best way to approach something with an open-mindedness," Pelinka said. "I think any negotiation is between two sides. Ultimately you're hoping to find a partnership."

Sounds like Lakers want to keep Jules for a good price, but Mintz obviously knows it very much hinges on our signing FAs goes and wants to squeeze the Lakers for more money.

Yeah, and there’s some residual issues from Dlo, and the fact that while you respect a team not doing a deal last year, you know that it’s only recently that they’ve actually realized what they have in him. The small slights and nuances matter.

I wouldn't consider anything he said eyebrow-raising. Typical agent-speak, pretty much. One thing I will say is that it's very unlikely that Julius does anything to give the Lakers a discount. It's going to cost the Lakers market value.

Agreed on both counts. It’s not like Mintz can come out and say “Yeah, Rob and I have it all worked out so that after PG and LBJ sign their deals with the Lakers, they’re going to take care of Julius.”

We won’t know what’s really happening until July 1st hits, and due to the tampering investigation, I’m expecting there to be a delay before we hear anything. I don’t think it will be like some of the things we’ve seen in the past, where the deal is announced at 12:01am EDT.

So to recap we can sign PG and LBJ and resign Julius if we stretch Deng?

Who's right and who's wrong, Inspector Gadget, CJ McCollum or Russell Westbrook?

My money's on gadget, he's never been wrong before.

Have to trade Deng to sign Jules. We can sign 2 max PG and LBJ if we stretch Deng.

Part of the motivation and desire to trade Deng to make room for Jules..is rather Randle is worth it, they obviously aren’t shy on letting young players leave, when the time comes... Dlo/Clarkson/Nance... if the Lakers FO thinks Randle can end up being apart of a championship team then they will do everything possible to make room along with 2 max... but if they question rather his style will fit in on a contender then they will likely let him walk.. it’s not rocket science... it all depends if Randle can be apart of a winner and rather the Lakers see that as well.

I would be skeptical about signing anyone that ruptured their achilles.

If his wages are anywhere close to Brook's, I'd take a chance on him.

If Brook is cheap, then it's a no brainer, but if Brook wants significant money... I'd consider Boogie if we don't get both PG and LeBron.

You should find a place to store information or bookmark this web page.

$35,350,000......LeBron
$30,300,000......Paul George

$12,447,727......Randle (cap hold)
$7,461,960........Ball
$5,757,120........Ingram
_____________
$91,316,807

There is $9.7 million in cap space left for Kuzma, Hart, 2018 first and some minimum salaries.

Stretching Deng is going to be a charge of $7.4 million. Instead of having $9.7 million in cap space left to use, they have $2.3 million and things aren't going to work.

It is going to be very tight with Lebron, Paul George, Randle, Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, Hart and 2018 first.

The 2018 1st would almost assuredly be part of a deal to dump Deng's salary so that would shave a few hundred grand from the team's cap. Every little bit helps, I guess.
