SALARIES:
30.0 Paul George
30.0 DeMarcus Cousins
12.5 Julius Randle (14m, 14m, 16m, 16m)
7.5 Lonzo Ball
5.8 Brandon Ingram
1.7 Kyle Kuzma
1.7 Josh Hart
1.4 Thomas Bryant
10 Isaiah Thomas
TOTAL = 99.9m
TRADES:
* Deng, Zubac, 2019 1st, 2021 1st to Atlanta
4M ROOM EXCEPTION =
Marco Bellinelli (1 year x 4m)
VET MINIMUMS =
* Channing Frye
* Richard Jefferson
* Matt Thomas
DRAFT:
RD1 - Mitchelle Robinson
RD2 - Kevin Hervey
TWO WAY CONTRACTS:
* Shamorie Ponds
* Alex Caruso
UNDRAFTED FREE AGENTS (G-League):
* LiAngelo Ball
* Shareef O’Neal
* Thomas Welsh
* Andre Ingram
* Travis Wear
LAKERS DEPTH CHART:
PG: Ball / I.Thomas / Caruso / Ponds
SG: George / Hart / M.Thomas
SF: Ingram / Bellinelli / Jefferson / Hervey
PF: Randle / Kuzma
C: Cousins / Robinson / Frye / Bryant
SOUTH BAY G-LEAGUE ROSTER:
PG: Caruso / Ponds
SG: Ingram / Ball
SF: Hervey /
PF: Wear / O’Neal
C: Bryant / Welsh
SUMMER LEAGUE ROSTER:
PG: Caruso / Ponds
SG: Hart / G.Ball
SF: M.Thomas / Hervey
PF: Wear / O’Neal
C: Robinson / Bryant / Welsh
** Shareef O'Neal likely skipping UCLA cos his grades wont cut it so he will likely go to G-League. Would be cool if he stayed in LA.
** If any of our G-League or UDFA guys look good, we could cut Jefferson and he could join Luke's staff. I like the idea of having some old school vets on the roster to help guide the young guys though (Frye and Jefferson would serve that role nice). _________________ 24 |

So with Cousins not expecting to be back until after Christmas, do you want Mitchell Robinson starting at center or Channing Frye?
I kind of like my plan better:
1. Trade Deng + Zubac + 2018 1st + 2019 1st for Taj Gibson (expiring k) and Cole Aldrich (expiring k), waive Aldrich.
2. Sign PG.
3. S&T Julius + Ingram + 2019 2nd for Kawhi.
4. Sign LeBron.
5. Pick up Tyler Ennis' option.
6. Pick up Thomas Bryant's option.
7. Re-sign Channing Frye for the Vet. Min.
8. Re-sign Lopez with our remaining cap room.
9. Sign Seth Curry with the Room Exception.
10. Offer two-way contract to Travis Wear.
Ball/Curry/Ennis
Kawhi/Hart
George/Kuzma/#47
LeBron/Gibson/Wear (two-way)
Lopez/Frye/Bryant |

2max, Randle and IT _at_ 22.5 plus 1st rd rookie plus 2nd rd rookie plus couple minimums FA signings... u sure the math is right? All this fit with just trading Deng? |

That's not enough to get Kawhi and I don't think he gets traded to the Lakers anyways. |

I don't see anyone giving Boogie a full max deal. Way too much risk. Even in the best of circumstances the salary you pay him next year is for future (and uncertain) services as he's going to be rehabbing most if not all of the year. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Going to be interesting to see what NO's offers. They will set the market.
If they offer say 3 years, $70m, I wouldn't be shocked see Dallas or Atlanta entertain making a run at Cousins. |

Bill Plaschke LATimes:
-Doesn’t know why Lakers are bringing in Liangelo especially with how Lavar Ball has acted including with his most recent comments
-Liangelo is not an NBA baller and they should not bring him in
-The more Lavar Ball talks the more expendable Lonzo Ball becomes
-According to him, they told Lonzo bulk up and get better or else we may trade you
-Doesn’t send a good message that the Lakers are bringing in Liangelo, they need to send a clear message to Lavar and this move is basically bowing down to him
I personally agree with Bill. He has gone off on the coach and trainer. When are we you gonna send a message that BS is not tolerated? Now were giving more of his sons try outs. |

Lol. Who cares? The Lakers will work out ~100 players, most of which aren't NBA players. |

Not a huge of fan of Plaschke but what he says makes a lot of sense.
Anyways heres some more free agency tid bits regarding Julius Randles...
Quote: | Although the 23-year-old remains a potential target, he may not be the team’s top priority heading into free agency on July 1, according to Mike Fisher of 247Sports:
The national media is simply badminton’ing back to you information you already had. … and I’ll repeat here for the record, an example: Julius Randle might end up being a Dallas target, but I’m told the Mavs are aiming “much higher” than that. |

Because the Lakers are doing their best to keep it professional. Why burn bridges at this point - give the kid a workout along with the 100 others, no biggie. Not working him out sends a bad message. |

So the Lakers are both bowing down to Lavar/Zo while giving them an ultimatum? I guess that's what amounts to logic these days. Lavar has not done or said a single thing that has impacted the Lakers. The only reason Lavar matters is because idiots like Plaske and some posters here keep bringing him up. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Misread your post. I think there are teams that are willing to pay for the risk of Cousins talent vs his injury. There are just too many teams that want stars and outside of Dallas the small market teams may need to have these red flags and then overpay in order to get one.
I think if Dallas doesn’t draft a center we are looking at a hard run at Cousins. Let’s say a Michael Porter Jr. kills it at work outs.
A core of DSJ, Barnes, Porter, Cousins gives that team nice core. |

Fine with me. If Dallas goes hard at Cousins, it means one less bidder to drive up Randle's price.
Where do I sign up for this? |
