Are we all in agreement that:

If PG13 signs with OKC, the rest of the league will celebrate...
If PG13 signs with the Lakers, the rest of the league will scream “Tampering!”

if it is just PG-13, they may not care too much.....if it's Lebron and PG, then the tampering stuff will be loud.....if it is Lebron, PG and Kawhi there could be rioting.

It probably goes something like this:

PG13...Tampering Lol

Lebron/PG13...Tampering!!! Silver needs to fine and take draft picks gtfo.

Lebron/PG13/Kawhi...(bleep) this rigged league. I’m done!

and a lot of begging for another "basketball reasons"

My theory is the majority of NBA fans want the Lakers to be relevant....but not really good contenders. It is similar in how I view the Knicks....I prefer them to be a top 4 in the East type team....but I do not want or care for them winning any titles. Just think the league is more interesting when more of the major market traditional powers and their fan bases are fully engaged. Hate to say it...but I even probably prefer Boston to be a playoff team than a lottery team.

Yeah Silver will get pressure on “basketball reasons” but I wonder if everyone is so sick of the warriors that even if it’s the lakers they want GSW to end.

You are right about the league being more interesting. It’s been very boring with these past 2 finals specifically.

And y'all were laughing at me for posting that George said he was disappointed that the Lakers didn't make an effort to trade for him.

To be fair we laugh at almost everything you post.

Call me a masochist if you’d like, but I for one will be even more engaged with this team if no free agents come.

I loved the Ceballos/Van Exel/Jones years more than the Shaq & Kobe years.

I’m all in for going after James and George; it’s the right move, but at the same time I thoroughly enjoy watching young guys unfold and blossom.

Carry on.

Here it is, Woj reporting last year that the Lakers were told NOT to give up any prime assets for PG.

Not even a mention of who supposedly told them that. My guess it was Jeanie.

So which Woj are we going to believe then? Because he just directly contradicted his own reporting this afternoon.

Not going to get into a back and forth about Jeanie/Rob/Magic vs Jim/Mitch.

So lets say its July 12:

- Randle signed a deal with another team on July 3.

- LeBron passes on us and so does Paul George

What are we doing?

Trying to absorb deals for 2019/2020 1st rounders and signing guys to one year deals?

I too had JerryWestitis, couldn't watch many of our playoff games live when we were actual contenders with Shaq and Kobe. I definitely enjoyed the Ceballos/Van Exel/Jones teams more. Hell even the Sedale Threatt/Tony Smith/Elden Campbell teams were more enjoyable for me to watch, we almost upset the Suns in an 1-8 matchup.

But "love?" Nothing beats championships for me. Loved seeing the team's championship videos and seeing other fans' internet tears way more.

is this a one time opportunity or and open invitation? Also, are there any other's your ok with?

I was as much into the youth development movement as anyone. I also absolutely loved those mid 90's Lakers teams. I fondly remember turning the channel to Prime Sports West.....and waiting for that massive satellite in the yard to turn....but the FO has made it clear they are going in a different direction....I was not for changing directions right now....but if we are, then I want to go all in for that direction.

I personally would have waited another year....looked for some extremely low risk/high reward/low cost deals this summer (Hezonja, Noel, etc.)....maybe take on some bad money with draft assets.....and see if the young core could make a playoff run next season....and then try to sign a big FA to compliment the core next summer before I have to start paying the young guys the following year.

If we sign Lebron, I know that is all out the window.....a lot of pieces will likely be moved.

they may not admit it....but in a couple years, I bet you many GSW fans will admit they were extremely bored for the most part this season.

Sign Lopez, Thomas, Reddick G Green, to large one year deals

Lopez
Randle/Kuzma
Ingram/Green
Reddick/Hart
Lonzo/Thomas

I'm still intrigued by the Kenneth Faried trade.
Hope PG comes by himself.
Try to get Kawhi next year.

It's as if some of ya'll have never heard of smokescreens. They make it too obvious that they're going to LA, the tampering antennas will go up. Getting worked up over nothing

(and yeah, if it's all true and they get no one, get dem expiring contracts with future picks attached and run it back next year with the kids. Big deal, find a new team to root for or picket outside Staples if it bugs you so much).

As long as we either re-sign or sign equal quality players to KCP/IT/Brook we will improve.

PG and LBJ is the best case scenario... drafting a rim protector or shooter... maybe signing Brook if he wants to ring chase.

However... scenarios like this will also be good if we want to make the playoffs. All three positions must be accounted for. A good 3 and D shooting guard... A backup point... A stretch five.

If we fail in replacing even one... we have the chance to regress... though I do expect improvement by all the youngsters.

Phoenix/Sacramento/Utah/Clippers all will improve... we cannot just absorb bad contracts or we will be stuck on an endless treadmill of what we went through with Randle this year and have more cheap contracts becoming RFAs without making any real progress.

If we make the playoffs... we will get someone good in 2019.

However, I do still believe we will get PG and LBJ.

Good point.
I might even do it without knowing about the FAs.
