No rumors of anyone getting traded despite the hype by Pelinka that there was gonna be fireworks... maybe things will heat up after the Holidays.

Honestly, I'd be fairly surprised to see the Lakers make any major moves outside of a possible Luol Deng buyout. The Lakers aren't in a position where they necessarily have to make any moves. They've already achieved their goal of opening more than enough cap space for one max free agent. Also in the unlikely event that a second max free agent wants to join, the Lakers have positioned themselves to a place where they can free that cap space by simply renouncing Randle and/or trading Jordan Clarkson who has improved his value enough that I don't believe it would require an asset attached to do. You don't want to make those moves until those two max free agents have already given verbal agreements though. Those two are not depreciating assets in my opinion.

"hype by Pelinka that there was gonna be fireworks" - fireworks may have been too strong of a word.

"December 15, I think you’re going to see the trade market open up. I think teams are going to be aggressive. I always say when there’s limited cap room, there’s more trades. When there’s tons of cap room, teams tend to be more free-agent focused. Since there’s limited cap room around the league, I think teams are going to be aggressive with trying to reshuffle."

Send Lopez to Utah.... and let’s get a few assets and expiring.

Send Lopez to Utah?

Alright let's see.

We need a 1st round pick in that equation, we would also need to find a way to have a follow up deal by getting a big... Noel??

i acutally looked into their cap - dont think they have enough expiring and i think they are over the cap.

Like ? People are already complaining that Hart and JC don't have enough playing time. At what is Nwaba better than them ? He's probably slightly above Hart defensively, and he can't do anything else at an above average level (maybe rebounding). Once again we're overating players who used to play for us. His career in the NBA will soon be other, he's just lucky the Bulls are one of the worst team in the NBA, so he's having playing time...

Nwaba doesn't have the 3 points range. We are already complaining about our shooting already.

I think one of Nance or Randle is gone by the deadline. Doubt both stay, doubt both go.

confused. the salaries are $6m off and they are over the cap.
i dont see a trade exception either.

now flavors + johnson = lopez
i actually did not think they want to get rid of flavors.
though dont know much about him other he plays quite a few minutes.

right
exum+favors+hood = 19M
brook+nance+ennis = 26M
how does that work?
if it is brook's 22m by itself, is it close enough?

I think it's because Utah is 12 mill under the cap, if I'm understanding your question correctly. Lopez alone would also work according to the trade machine but I think they would want at least Nance to make it a better deal.

we are $3 Million over cap, and Utah is $12 Million over....hence the negative sign under cap room

gotcha so that makes sense then (I thought -12 meant 12 under)

but then do you know why that trade still works?

So OKC just got waxed by the Knicks at the Garden, in Melo's return. No Porzingis, no Hardaway. OKC basically got beat by bench players, G league players, and players who were lucky enough to not have to play professionally in a foreign country.

OKC played a triple OT game last night in Philly; I would not put too much stock into tonight's loss.
