has anyone noticed that Dunn has quietly figured out how to play basketball again? If Lavine returns healthy....that Butler trade may start looking a lot better from Chicago's perspective than we thought....they may have landed their PG, SG, and PF of the future...

Watched sixers/Bulls, bulls are playing well. Not sure they want to lose that lottery pick but Dunn has stabilized PG for them. Mirotic is making every shot he throws up or it feels like that

That would be an excellent idea.

I'd likely try to keep KCP for $14m a year and offer Parker a deal a $15m a year as well. He is still young enough to develop into a go-to scorer and can play with Ingram.

On his thrice injured knees?

Would the Lakers or any team have a chance to sign him if he wasn't coming off all those ACL injuries?

There is no doubt a lot of risk, but with that comes a lot of upside. He was really turning into a big time player last year after 2 ACLs. Does the 3rd change the long term picture that much. Who knows.

Why do we need to waste our cap room on a pf, and one who can't shoot ?

1. At some point our Cap room will disappear when we need to sign our young players to extensions unless the plan is to continually trade away our young players that are due for extension until we convince a star FA to join the team.

2. A good player on a good contract with upside can be more valuable than cap-room. Next off-season is ripe for signing some real value contracts.

3. The PF who can't shoot shot 36.5% on 3.5 attempts from 3 last year.

It would had been nice, but GSW won't let us anywhere near him.

C'mon KD. U got ur ring. Now it's about ur legacy.
Bring a ring to L.A. and your jersey can be next to Kobe's!

Yeah and will get it by getting more rings in Oakland.

I wonder when the Lakers pull off the JC and Randle for Lavine and Mirotic deal. Trade deadline I hope.

And is our dream that we can unload Deng for a 1st and Zubac?

I know Randle and Portis are buddies because after the game Randle was jokingly fake boxing Portis. But even if they weren't friends, Portis wouldn't dare think about punching Randle. He would just have to fall in line. 😂

From present-day “best” lineup ...
PG - Clarkson - Ennis
SG - Ball - Caruso
C - Nance - Randle - Bogut
PF - Kuzma - Ingram - Brewer
SF - Pope - Hart

To future “best” lineup ...
PG - James - Wade
SG - Ball - Caruso
C - Nance - Randle - Bogut
PF - Kuzma - Ingram - Frye
SF - George - Hart

I'm not so sure about LBJ, but how about:

KCP out: PG13 in
Lopez out: Boogie in

You know that Randle would be gone too as in renouned becuause remember his cap hold eats into our cap and if it's James which I hope not because I hate him then Clarkson and Randle are both gone. So we better plan on keeping at least Bryant to develop him because now we need centers.

Also screw LeBron's buddies because LeBron doesn't run things Magic does so that's rule number 1.

Ideally, this is my lineup:

Lonzo
PG13/Hart
BI
Kuz/Nance
Boogie/Jules/Bryant

Room exception: use it on a combo guard like Tyreke (probably commands more), Jack, Seth Curry.

Nice, but don't be surprised that Julies because he wants to start and get paid so that's one the reasons there has been talks about trading him at the deadline. Also if Deng is streched then Randle and Clarkson are both gone.

If he's gone then we have JC. If Deng is stretched and say Jules is gone, then we are close to being able to offer full 30m maxes to PG13/Boogie.

In the off season, after George is already signed and James has committed: Deng plus two first round picks to Atlanta (or Chicago or Cleveland).

Even after properly allotting Randle’s 13 mill caphold, this move creates 26 mill in space. Trading Clarkson to Cleveland for James creates 38 mill in space to absorb James’ full max.

You implying that the Lakers emphatically can’t sign George and James AND one of Randle or Clarkson is just wrong. A lot of dominos need to fall properly in order for it to happen, yes, but it is DEFINITELY possible to sign George and James to full maxes while also paying and keeping Randle.

Yeah, but if one of those is LeBron then Randle, Clarkson, and Deng are all gone. That's like between $69 mil and $77 mil dollars in cap. So we need $60.6 mil for George/Cousins, and $65.7 mill for LeBron. So really I doubt Deng, Clarkson, and Randle survives especially if we have to pay $7.2 mil to Deng for the next 5 years.
