If not sooner. That locker room atmosphere between he and KAT/Wiggins is bad. It's why Jamal Crawford got the heck out of there.

I’d love to see the Lakers pursue Butler because I think Kawhi could change his mind.

I could also see the Wolves having a lot of interest in Ball.

I think they would have more interest in Ingram, who could slide in at the 3 and allow Wiggins to go back to the 2. They still have Teague and Tyus Jones and, gasp, Derrick Rose lol.

I wouldn't give them Ingram since we could get Butler next summer. I'd offer Deng, KCP, and a 1st for Butler and Dieng.

Dieng is getting paid 15m,16 and 17m per year next 3 year. Why do u want him him again?

KCP isn't going anywhere. He was basically a package deal with LeBron, and he has a virtual no-trade clause anyway, as a non-Bird FA on a 1-year deal. He's going to be a Laker all year, so we might as well get used to it.

I lean towards the thinking that if a player can come in to help Lebron win a title, that his management team would be OK with KCP being in a trade package. Especially since the team did do him a solid with the overpay in back to back years.

He can get packaged at the trade deadline, along with Lance and a first round pick to Minnesota for Butler.

Only if he agrees to it. He has the right to say no to any trade.

I wonder how many times Klay has to say he is staying and willing to take less to stay before people believe him. And backed up by his father.

I think next summer plays out like this:

Klay re-signs at GSW

KD and Kyrie team up somewhere (either Chicago, NYK, or Brooklyn)

Kawhi or Butler comes here and the other goes to Philly

You’ll then have Boston, Philly, Lakers, GSW, and wherever KD/Kyrie go all as legit contenders

Klay may very well stay but neither of us know how much the Warriors will offer him and how much less Klay is willing to take. Durant has said he wasn't leaving OKC. Lebron said he wouldn't leave the Cavs until he won the championship before 2010. Players can say anything they want it doesn't mean they are legally bound to those words.

That question

And why is it surprising KL will leave a lot of money on the table and go somewhere but not surprising Klay Thompson will turn Down a lot of money and stay?

How many times do people have to tell you that taking less doesn't mean taking 30-50% less, they simply can't afford 4 max or close to max players. The repeater tax will kill them. If you think the 300mil payroll for OKC is bad, wait until you see that GS bill

nobody said he wouldn't. unless he signs the contract extension, we are free to talk about anybody who is going to be a free agent next summer

I wouldn’t be so sure. KD is a pretty insecure dude, and I think he wants to go somewhere and be “the guy” again. He’s never going to be that in GS no matter how many championships/Finals MVP’s he wins, it will always be Steph’s team.

There are lots of murmurs in the media about him potentially leaving too. It may sound like click bait now, but so was LeBron to LA a year ago, and Kawhi wanting out of SA a few months ago.

meh, he is happy here in the bay. gave up 10m and then around 5m this year.

if he wasn't winning, i agree but he keeps winning and getting the FMVP.

so no totally different scenarios.
