That Lonzo pick is turning out to be a good one. So is the Ingram pick. Kuzma, Hart, and Nance were great value picks. Loss of DLO hurts outside shooting. Big loss.
Lopez is ok but at a less salary.
It seems KCP is going to ask for more money than he is worth.
But PG is worth maxing out for he has some years left in him. He is an all star and getting into his prime. OKC might not be able to max him out unless they win it all.
James window is short so will not want to rebuild with the Lakers.
Possibly same for Cousins.
But in 2 to 3 years if the Lakers make the right moves and don't panic will be in hunt for playoffs for sure. |
Good post. I agree with this except maybe the Lopez part. We should try to add PG, let the young core develop, and look for value players. We aren't going to contend for a few years, so we shouldn't sign older FAs hoping to somehow win in the next two years. |

I agree but Cousins is still young, I'd put him in the same boat as PG13.
If the Lakers can add both Cousins and PG13 to the ever improving core of Lonzo, Ingram, Hart, Kuzma and Nance the Lakers would be top 3 in the West, maybe even ahead of Houston for the 2nd spot right behind GS. |

That’s just to give you some idea about the perceived trade value of JC and JR around the league. Evan Turner, Vonleh and a 2nd is what this Portland Writer thinks is a fair value. Then on the next page he summarizes saying that it’s probably too much to pay for them.
Not saying he is correct as far as his value assessment, but just to put a bit of focus on what type of offers we might be looking at and how the rest of the league might see these guys. |

Since this writer obviously has zero understanding in why the Lakers are even trading them in the first place, I wouldn't put too much stock in his estimations...
And value is different from team to team - based on roster needs, cap situation, general direction they want to go in the offseason, etc.
it really makes no sense to talk about "value around the league". |

I think the reason why we haven’t traded Randle and Clarkson yet is because we are waiting to use them in a Cousins trade or else I don’t think it would be hard to trade them for exp contracts. |

Or how about we're just not trying to trade 2 guys who are helping us to win which will only change if we get a really good deal.. if we don't get that type of deal, we're move them in the off season (or in Julius' case, renounce him) |

The Cavs, after they call almost any other team and let them know the Nets pick is available. Which, if it is, will be used to get a star. Not 3 role players. |

I think the Pelicans might be better with Julius and JC.
And interesting enough, I think it makes the Lakers better as well.
Do it Rob. And we get a Laker in the All-Star game. |

If we strike out on PG13...qould you guys throw a max offer sheet at RFA Zach Lavine and try to poach him from the Bulls? |

Yeah I leave it to the trade experts to propose trade ideas.. I usually just like posting things when something breaks. |

I think Pelicans are waiting to see if Cousins commits.. but if he doesn’t we will likely be very aggressive in getting a trade done... |

ASW will be of NO interest in this case, because the TD expires before it. |

They will match it unless out of desperation of not getting a star FA we throw some crazy max money at him... |

Worth a shot. If Cousins doesn’t commit to NO, I think he is made available prior to trade deadline. |

~$25.5M for Zach?
I want Zach if we're getting Paul George.
But if Zach is the best FA we're getting this summer, I hope we're not offering him $25M. |
