If no Tony Parker, Teodosic would be a fine back up or a occasional starter

I'd definitely be in favor of signing him for the right price

I bet you weren’t OK with it when you posted it

Deep down, all of us are thirsty for some Hollywood type blockbuster moves, we need to return to prominence and I’m confident Magic and Rob will get it done this summer...

If we trade Ball/Dengfor #16 and #31, max James and George, sign Randle and renounce Zubac, Bryant, Ennis, Wear, we end up with almost 7 million in cap room. I would consider giving that to Teodosic for sure.

Rudy Gay declined his option how much cap space will the Spurs have?

Around 9 million, if Danny Green opts out it will be around 19 million i think.

Probably because he had a fall out with Stu Lantz and the Lakers not picking up his option to continue calling Laker games.

Could anyone roll with this...

Trade Ball, Deng, and maybe the 25th? for Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb
Trade or Stretch Lamb
Sign James and George
Resign Randle

Walker
George
Ingram
James
Randle

Kuzma
Hart
Room Exception

I ran the numbers and this scenario comes in just under the cap...

If Deng can be dumped with two future firsts (big if, I know), then I’d rather lose one extra first round pick to keep Ball, even though Walker is definitely the more established player.

Ball will be more impactful toward winning than Walker, and, to me, he’s worth sacrificing the extra pick (if it, in fact, only requires on extra pick to dump Deng).

I guess I feel Walker fits better with LeBron and gives us more of a chance to win now...

Understood. I knew where you were coming from. That’s the kind of move you deeply, deeply regret within a year though, maybe two.

Fair enough, but let’s say the few teams that could simply absorb Deng were not willing to do it for what would essentially be 2 late first round picks, would you rather have Walker and Randle or just Ball?

I’d rather offer a third pick. If that doesn’t work, if Deng is presumably untradeable, I ask George and James to take three million each less. If they are completely unwilling to take three mill less, I explore trading Deng to Chicago for another bad contract in Asik, who the Lakers could then stretch and get James and George under the cap. If Chicago is unrelenting and unwilling to do business, then your trade is a viable option.

I’m pretty sure Atlanta would take three first round picks if it came down to it though.

Yea, I’ve brought up the Asik trade several times, and I think that is the most realistic... I honestly think Chicago would trade Asik for Deng and 25th pick this year and their own 2nd rounder back next year... by stretching Asik we would be around 700k short of being able to max out LeBron and George, but that’s assuming the cap comes in right at 101 million, if it comes in a little higher that number obviously becomes a little less... I think LBJ and PG would take that kind of minimal paycut (around 350k each) to keep Randle...

Definitely ring chasing.

Probably doesn't want to play his last season in a dysfunctional locker room either, let alone be cold in Minnesota. Come back to LA for the minimum, Jamal...

Jamal Crawford is gonna be Laker bound, as long the Lakers and his agent have mutual interest, heck I could even see him coming even if we just sign PG and Randle but he would be that guy who can keep the 2nd unit at a advantage especially on a super team.

Well. I guess you can always replace and expensive JC with a cheaper JC.

You mean the context of it? It’s just pointing to the fact that a bunch of guys are gonna team up to write for the Athletic which would mean that there is a sense that there gonna be talking about the big moves we make.
