Geez... at least let Lonzo get destroyed by Wall first before you give ROY to Simmons. What if he puts up a triple double tomorrow? Then everyone says Lonzo will win. If Lonzo can shoot 45%, which I don't think is out of the realm of possibility, then I think he wins.

His stats are good, his shooting percentage is just horrid at the moment. If he can bring it up he should have a good shot at it. If Simmons keeps his level of play up though he might have it locked up.

Simmons is so good, he's got this in the bag.

People have to remember that Simmons is older than Ball (and he was an old freshmen to begin with) so naturally he's lot more physically developed which makes the NBA grind a little easier than him.

There are many good rookies this year in Simons, Ball, Tatum...Kuzma is good but not better than them

Long-term Tatum likely surpasses Kuzma, but this year Kuzma legitimately looks better than him.

The kid just needs minutes IMO, he certainly would have stiff competition..

This is a strong class of rookie performers (through 4-5 games ). Brogdon won it last year, he might not have finished in the top 10 by the time this season's over. Simmons, Ball, Kuzma, Smith Jr. Tatum, Markannen, Fox, Jackson, Collins, and hell, even Dillon Brooks is in there.

simmons is a bigger guy and is super athletic to boot. they are both passers. simmons has serious court vision.
This means simmons will get easier baskets right at the rim. a couple of lobs from some teammates and a couple of break out fast break points. you toss in a few put backs just for him being close to the paint and then look at his box score and fg% look really nice vs a guard like zo who shoots 3's, and rarely gets to play off ball and put in scoring position for easy buckets. he's not allowed to truly offensive rebound like that because someone has to get back on defense. thats usually the job of the guards.

Only four games into the season, but Markkanen showing shades of his offensive Dirk-potential that I was stanning for back in January (15.8 PPG, 10 rebounds, on 43.1%/40%/70% shooting splits -- 56.1% TS).

Rebounding better than I expected but turning the ball over too much (2.5/game) and not putting up enough blocks, steals, or assists (0.5, 0.3, 0.3 respectively). If he can continue to play positional defense like this as a rookie, I think he'll get better with time: https://twitter.com/iamvega1982/status/922964950179614721

Bulls have a nice stretch four to space the floor for the foreseeable future.

I wanted Simmons when he was coming out but right now eff that guy!

Lonzo will come on strong as he familiarizes himself. If it isn't Lonzo it will be Kuzma. Take that Simmons love to Philly-forum.com.
