Ever since Westbrook got his extension. I don't think we'll get Paul George next offseason

I was boisterous before the Westbrook extension. George was publicly acknowledging he wanted to come to the Lakers (something an allstar hasn't done in nearly half a decade). But now that I know Westbrook is off the table too next offseason, I don't think George will come here. And if George isn't coming here, neither is Lebron.

Just my 2 cents. But for better or worse. I think we're looking at a young core rebuild. With that said, I think any player on our team should be a trade option. Nobody is untouchable if the "right" person is coming back. The younger, the better.
Hopefully Ingram and Ball show something this season. And we keep 1 or both of them. We won't win alot of games. But maybe something about Ingram and/or Ball (maybe skillset, maybe play style) attracts players that can eventually be a playoff core.

See I think LeBron will be the first to decide, then George will make his decision after that.

Also I think our front office is drunk and it's totally not happening

Get Avery Bradley and call it a very good summer.

PG was saying he wanted to be a Laker up to the point he was traded. Since, nothing. We were used again folks, we should be used to it.

Yeah I’m not sure we get any maxes that aren’t already on the team.

I’d be fine with Avery Bradley, Lopez, and a re-signed Julius if that’s the case

I guess I'm an optimist...

I still think he will sign with the Lakers. And here are five reasons:

He said he wanted to.

He is NOT better than Durant and thus will NOT elevate the Thunder to being any better than they were.

He will probably tire of playing with Westbrook (just like Durant did).

He will probably tire of Melo's style (just like all of New York did).

Thunder will probably NOT offer him as money as they did Westbrook, which he will take as an insult.

At least it will be a cancer-free mediocrity.

I am sure his agent understands the CBA well enough to know that it is impossible for him to get as much money as PG did. They can still pay him more than we can.

You want to burn max space on non all star level players who are closer to 30 or over 30?

Do we really want PG? Let him be happy with Melo and Westbrook...

100% want him. A true 3/D player who is capable of 25ppg in his prime? I'll happily take him.

Not on *both* but I really like one or the other as a long term Laker since I'm skeptical of the 2 max plan.

It's going to depend on how well the Thunder mesh together and how much Carmelo has left in the tank.

If, by the end of the year, he knows that team will have little chance of going far in subsequent playoff runs, he will bolt.

If we have another solid player by then, he might also induce him.

Dear lord of mediocrity.

Seriously!
Do people not realize that winning teams are not built by paying players in the range? There are examples where it's paid off (Iguodala to the Warriors comes to mind) but by and large it's not the case. Teams almost always regret those contracts.

The thing is, it took KD more than a season to get tired of Russ, and it took NY a few years to get tired of Melo.

I agree that could happen, but if the Thunder are top4 in the West like they're supposed to and play well in the playoffs, he's not leaving after a single season.

Unless LeBron signs with us. Then he'll give it a hard look for sure.

I thought Indy trading him to OKC greatly lowered our chances. Then, I thought Melo going there brought our chances to nearly zero. Westbrook's extension has me wondering who else will be a FA in 2018.

the NYK players didn't get tired of him, the front office did. Melo was voted teammate of the year by his teammates.
