Newsday - Denver power forward Kenyon Martin might provide the solution to the Knicks' problems with defense and rebounding, but with a contract running another five seasons worth $71 million for a player with bad knees, he remains an unlikely trade prospect unless the Nuggets simply want cap room, which they don't. Trade rumors involving rookie Channing Frye should be discounted since he is the only player Isiah Thomas has drafted for the Knicks who is regarded as a future starter.

That dosen't mean he staying. All that says is he's not going to the Knicks.

Hopefully we can step in and trade Odom/George for kmart/Watson

The guy's an albatross. I did think, however, that the Knicks were stupid enough to bite.

Those of you who are desperate to ditch Odom's contract had better pray that Mitch doesn't go after this dude. He's like crack; once the initial high wears off you're left going bankrupt trying to relive it.

I hope we make moves to improve the roster....having said that, I'd be surprised if we do make moves.

They need to. That's the homerun we need to get us back into contention.

I'd rather stand pat than take on K-Mart. Once you're knees start giving you problems, they never stop, and at his age, it's quite a concern. He is not worth it. I'd rather have the worse case scenario happen where we don't make the playoffs and lose our draft pick then for us to take on a huge contract on ANOTHER tweener. Why don't we trade for Antwan Jamison as well. We'd have a monopoly on overpriced 3/4 tweeners.

Wait - So despite the Nuggets having those two players and Melo, Camby, Miller and Boykins - their record is very similar to the Lakers YET that moves makes us contenders?

It's true, it does. You're just not looking at it the right way. Watch. First, take a hit of this and then think about Martin on the Lakers. See how fast we become contenders?

Wouldn't it be nice to have the guy who plays at Target rather than K-Mart?

It's funny because people was singing the same tune about B Diddy last trade deadline. Now look at what he's doing. I would rather have k-mart bad knees an all then a healthy Odom.

Are either of those players named Kobe????? No, so therefor whats your point?

Kmart & Watson both bring it defensively. Something we have been lacking for quite some time now.

I agree here. We have #8 and Phil Jackson... that's infinitely >>> than Georgie-Porgie and Melo, et al.

Hey 4OnTheFloor,

What do Baron Davis and K-Mart have in common?

1. Big contracts - preventing future moves
2. Frequent injuries - you can't count on either player
3. Questionable work ethic - unlikely to improve or fit into the triangle concept

What does that mean? The Lakers are not interested.

I don't think the Lakers would trade for K-mart, at least not with Odom being involved. His attitude isn't really the problem( he was a good citizen in jersey for the most part and in Denver as well except for this latest fan thing) The problem is that he is injury prone, in particular his knees. If you guys remember, he hurt his knee while he was still at Cincinatti, and it keeps flaring up along with other things. K-mart for Kwame and maybe slava's exspiring contract, or Dev's...o.k.....K-mart for L.O.....no way.

church.

Remind me again what is it that he's doing, making GS playoff contender?
