We had that camaraderie before, I remember players saying they'll run thru wall for the coach (Luke) and stuff |
Lebron & Magicc killed that. If we were going to miss the playoffs I would’ve preferred we do so with our young core, not another bunch of new faces that we’ll inevitably swap out next year.
Really hated losing Randle.
Really hate watching Lou Will & Zubac on the other side.
Really miss LNJ’s energy |

The shot I remember most is Pelinka pacing in the tunnel after loss at home to the Cavs.
Maybe this is when he was for real in trouble. |

They simply cannot mingle with common folks. Seriously, when he was there Dr. Buss was usually in a box, not all management is hands on. But having that personal recognition goes a long way, when was the last time that our management publicly recognized individual success? It seems now that everyone is looking over their shoulders. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Pelinka has the most to lose here. Even if this all blows up, Magic, Jeanie, heck even Luke have built up enough NBA cachet to retain some of their credibility. Pelinka, on the other hand, comes out looking like a fool if this FO fails. |

they are trying to throw Pelinka under the bus now to save Magic and protect Jeannie, but it's very obvious these bad decisions have Magic's finger prints all over them. They all bear the heat signature of his ten year feud with Jim, and the resentment of being passed over by Jerry which led to him selling his ownership stake right before the era of multi-billion dollar valuations. |

for instance watch how tenaciously he will cling to Lonzo cause that's his guy, even though he sucks on offense and played like 30 games a season.
Magic will start to feud with Lebron soon very likely because it is that kind of toxic situation. Unreachable, disconnected number, Mitch Mcconnell kind of toxic. And Lebron has put Magic in a corner but Jeannie is about as smart as a goldfish. |

I am fine losing pelinka, if they go and hire a guy like David Griffin who knows what he is doing and magic gives him power to do day to day tasks |

picking lesser of the evil. Jeanie does not have the guts to fire Magic after he got Lebron.
hope she does but i doubt it |

I've pledged to give Magic until this summer, but didn't expect for us to be another Tankathon team. So far not good. I can credit him for getting LBJ as much as I can blame him for not building a playoff team around LBJ. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

The pipe dream scenario if we fire Pelinka is to bring in Pat Riley to be the GM, with Riley we will have someone that the NBA respects and we will finally get respect from GMs... |

yikes, Dangelo becoming a high profile all star with a dazzling offensive game in Brooklyn is one thing, but how about when 22 yo Ivica Zubac becomes another Marc Gasol in Los Angeles for the next 10 years?
this all starts with Jeannie refusing to give Jim his lane, because she couldnt separate business and chafed at Jerry's decree that her "boyfriend" Phil Jackson wouldn't be given control of the franchise. Meanwhile Magic was tearing down the organization in the media for an entirely different set of reasons, even during the kobe gasol repeat.
At bottom both Jeannie and Magic wouldn't accept Jerry Buss's command and that is where the problems come from. The media really got this wrong because PR people and $$ etc. Even a show as smart as First Take is very slow to come around on this, because Magic I guess has some zombie superstar brand power, even though he's been irrelevant for decades.
LoL Stephen A kept saying Magic was a basketball savant... knowing Stephen A's cleverness that is likely just a way of saying Magic is an idiot. |

These are firable offenses. |
Would someone mind posting a synopsis since this is behind a paywall? Thanks. |
I can't see it here either but the twitter link provides a pretty good idea of the key points in there.
Coaching staff practically begged the front office to keep Brook Lopez and Julius Randle, but instead they went with Javale, Stephenson, Beasley, and Rondo. |
Magic's ability to evaluate talent continues to be piss-poor smfh. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

That only happens if Jeanie essentially demotes Magic. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

Omar, Jeanie fired her brother, I don’t think she will have a problem giving Magic a dose of her medicine... btw, do you like Riley becoming our GM if it happens? |

She fired her brother so she could take over and give the job to her guy. She's very close personally with Magic. Very very different. _________________ “We must always take sides. If she values relationships over putting in folks who can do there job then we likely are doomed as a franchise. |

Still 10x better than jeanine saying something like "fake news"

Why are you guys all of a sudden bringing up the Clippers to devalue our franchise? The same Clippers that haven’t tasted the success of the Lakers franchise and never will...
Steve Ballmer shook hands with Lou? Big deal... I would never want a guy who looks like he’s in tears every time the Clippers score a basket. |
