Comparing to last season 2004-2005
Lakers were 27W-24L
And then Disaster came up on mid-March and April for having 8 straight
losses, 5 straight losses and 6 straight losses.
Lakers did a bad record of 7W-24L = total 34W-48L

Can this current LA roster have the mentality of dealing the pressure in March and April where all teams are desperate of winning?
I'm just worried.
I hope they are physically and mentally ready for March and April, it's where everything can get ugly for any teams.

we were 26-24 before all-star break last year. Looks like we may end up 2 games over .500 again before ASB.

Things should be better this time around. I dont think Phil will be leaving. We have alot of home games.

The home games are the crucial stat. Big difference from last season. Injuries hurt last season, as they would this season. That is the big unknown. Personally, I think the Lakers will do better than the 8th seed.

Better coach better schedule, better Kobe worst supporting cast. At this point I think we miss Playoffs unless our disgusting cast around Kobe and Mihm picks up

I disagree with the worst supporting cast comment. Last year the Lakers interior defense was virtually non-existent. This year, it is much improved. That is what better balance in the roster brings. So unless you are only counting offense and ignoring defense, you can't say last year's roster was better.

Isnt Kwame the only difference in that dept?
Caron
JJones
Chucky
are proving to be bettr than what we have.
We had Mihm. I dont see how we are better
BTW- I listed coach. his focus on D is whats making the difference. But players, we are worse this year

Yes, Kwame is the main difference in that department. Caron, Jones, and Chucky offered virtually no help defensively, while Kwame does. The defense, and the improved big man roster, is why I believe this team is better than last year's. And I think the record will prove it.

It's good to see the Lakers are paying Phil Jackson $10 million and the team record is where it was last year with Rudy. That's money Buss could have spent on players, such as Shaq.

Money well spent...

If we make a trade we will move ground, if we're stuck we will stand in 8th seed.

We're to inconsistent to move up ground Ventura you know this aswell as anyone, we can't go above the stands with this roster, unless of course we're making a trade.

The schedule is the difference maker this season. It was so easy last season in the beginning they actually should have had a better record. The latter part of the season turned out to have a lot of road games coupled with playoff bound teams. This season the first half was more difficult but they've been able to stay a-float. The seconde have should be easier but this team has already shown how inconsistent it can be.

That is the reasoning I used to think that they will move up in the standings.
