Cant really find a silver lining in this, but Arizona did lose tonight. We don't gain, but we don't lose.

They should give Maeda a shot to close. I honestly don't even know what relievers are available now. We will have to look from within.

The offense is also to blame - a team this stacked should be able to get more than 2 runs at Coors Field.

Agreed, Maeda needs to be moved to the bullpen now. With Stripling back and with Wood apparently set for activation from the DL on Tuesday , they can go with a 5-man rotation of Kershaw/Hill/Buehler/Wood/Stripling. I would have felt much more comfortable with Maeda on the hill in the 9th tonight instead of JT Freaking Chargois.

I felt this way a few seasons back the moment they showed the graphic that showed how good he first time through the lineup and how progressively bad he got the 2nd and 3rd time around...so on and so forth. Just seems tailor-made to come in for a few innings or to close.

Wasted a gem by Buehler. The offense really has to step up and provide more runs. Entrusting this bullpen with any slim lead is like playing Russian roulette.

Pick a closer and go with it . Closer by committee isn't going to cut it. Ferguson is as good a bet as any at this point.

Or Stripling. Based on his early season success in the pen, I'd, at least, give him a try. Maeda will end up in the pen come post season, so they should just pro rate his season salary incentives up to this point, and see how he does--as the prime set-up guy or even the closer, at least for now. Urias or maybe Ferguson may fill another set-up spot, but I'd say both are longer shots. As I've said, the hot hands will be the starters come playoffs, but I don't want both Hill and Wood. Still, one of them will almost certainly need to be the fourth starter. The decision needs to be soon, like yesterday, to get the starters who will be pitching in relief, acclimated to their new role.

The roster is going to be quite a trick with 8 starters, and should they carry all 8, then some guys, like Chargois or Baez, who have been up most of the season, will just have to moan at home, so we won't have to.

Puig's defense really seems lousy this season.

EDIT: Just as I say that he makes an incredible throw.

Lol what a surprise...Another walk off for the Rockies. The ump screwed us over on the last batter though.

Well, we both got what we wanted, as both Maeda and Stripling are going to the bullpen. Ryu will start next week again.

Oh, and Cole Hamels has now allowed just 2 runs in 18 IP for the Cubs. I feared we gripped that and it looks like he has indeed perked up in the NL and in a pennant race again.

I'm starting to think that we should've just paid Morrow. If we didn't have all that dead weight we had to dump on the Braves on our payroll maybe we would have. But probably not. Sure would be nice to have him right now though. Ugh.

Machado needs to step it up too. So far he has not had close to the impact you would expect. Our offense is still anemic in big moments.

Up by 1 run...Depending on our bullpen to win the game for us. Not a good feeling.

Every pitcher we put in the 9th looks shook AF. Wasted gems by Kershaw and Buehler.
