wrong again. they are coming to play with other all star and with an up and coming team.

but logic doesn't work when your heart is set on giving Julius Randle the max

Man I hate doing this because hind sight is obviously 20/20. But imagine if instead of DLO, we got Porzingis and instead of Lonzo, we get Tatum:

Clarkson
Tatum
Ingram
Kuzma
Porzingis

ouchey mouchey

But for real, I think Lonzo will be fine. Needs to get out of his own head

3-27 from three, julius/lonzo/lopez were a combined 6-33, embiid had a career night...maybe his whole career...and we just barely lost the game. I love the fight in this team. Tonight's game just confirms what we already know

1) Lonzo can't shoot, probably needs some bench time to reevaluate his game. We can't get off to these slow starts every game. I believe in the kid, but he is gripping right now. Sit him for 2-3 games, let JC start at point.

2) We need a good defensive center. Lopez has sucked for the most part this year defensively and he has been worse than advertised offensively.

3) BI is coming along nicely, best game I've ever seen him play

4) Kuzma is pretty darn good

5) Walton has the guys playing really hard and he can't make the shots for them, 3-27 from three...we shoot even like 30% we win this game probably. He is weak in rotations, he does a good job in getting cold guys out of the game but he rides hot ones far too long.

I think we are much better than last year as a team...we have an identity. We scrap and we play D and we get to the basket. We ejected all of our chuckers off of the team and the one guy we brought on to pick up the slack, Lopez, has been very weak from 3. I get all that and that part is not Walton's fault. Walton does however need to hold Lonzo accountable for his shooting. We are about 20% through the season at this point and he is getting worse and losing confidence. I have no problem with these kind of losses, in years past we get down 10 points early and never come back....but we need to start hitting shots.

Denial over 8000.

We all know who cost us (once again) this game.

Who are you talking about?

Obvious hes talking about Zo.

But seriously back to real basketball talk. I agree with you Sasha, Bogut guarding on Embiid would of gave us a much better chance. why Luke forces that small lineup towards the end of of every single game is getting ridiculous

Can't really fault Randle for being manhandled by Embiid in the 4th, but JR's offensive repertoire is zero. He doesn't have the finesse required to finish in traffic and he's not a threat beyond 5-ft.

He has been in pretty much every other game except the last 2.

But it's a kind of "what have you done for me lately" post world.

Well, that's what happens when your alleged "star rookie" is a complete and utter bust to the point that Roy Hibbert might have a better jump shot.

This is a star driven league. The Lakers are bust driven as we lose YET ANOTHER close game as we look at a HORRENDOUS shooting stat line from Lonzo.

Choices have to be made starting now.

Do we want to WIN GAMES or do we want to keep forcing a bust into the starting line up just to save the management's face?

Because, honestly, keeping Lonzo as a starter or even having major minutes playing like this isn't healthy for anyone.

The players will start to get fed up with the preferential treatment and will begin to balme the L's on Lonzo thus poisoning the locker room.

Fans will soon bouh Lonzo as it's absolutely insupportable to watch him play.

Losing games because of consecutive comical displays of Shooting (and passivity)by Lonzo will also hinder our image as free agents do not want to be part of a circus.

In other words, we have a bust on our hands. Most top picks are balling out. Lonzo is sinking the Lakers as his lack of NBA basketball ability is roaring loud.

If i am the Lakers i'am trading him ASAP.

You have a point, except trading for lonzo. It is still too early to judge if he is a bust, but I do agree with you that we need to bench Lonzo for a bit just so he knows minutes on the court is "earned", not "given". Right now he can go 1 - 20 but still gets his minutes. This is not good for him as that gives him no sense of urgency. Otherwise he will keep siting there telling you in a blank face that he takes blame and he got to step up and play better.

The whole team seems to forget how to shoot, except BI and Kuz this game. It is either a curse, or there is something wrong with our shooting coach. It has to be fixed and fast.

You cant get Kuzma and Porzingis

KP was drafted after DLO.

Where we traded DLo for Kuzma

Sorry, all stars don't jump on 33 win teams when they're in their late 20s and want to contend for Championships.

They don't waste their time on teams that's best players are 2-3 seasons away, because they don't have that kind of time.

It's time to let the pipedream go.

This Lakers team is nowhere near ready enough for max free agents to go "We're gonna win a championship if we join them."

The team we lost to tonight actually has a better chance of selling that idea, because their young talent is already playing at an all-star or borderline all-star level. Not 2-3 years away from it, like ours.

They weren't even in the game. We got owned by Embiid.

Both shot 0/11 from 3. The bench lead by Randle and Brewer and clarkson brought us back twice.

Gonna suck to constantly come back to. But we could really use a legitimate scorer on the wing that could allow Lonzo to play off ball a bit and play secondary point guard.

But I guess it's worth it for one season of KCP, and Brook Lopez whom Luke has no clue how to utilize.

At this point, I'd cut our losses, package Clarkson/Lopez/Nance and pray Cleveland is still having troubles by the trade deadline and pray we can get them to give up the Nets pick for Lopez, Clarkson and Nance to put them over the top.

If not, we're out of luck.

I haven't read through these comments, but decided to come on here to vent my frustration. I just want to know, why was Randle guarding Embid? It's not like having Randle out there was any good...he was HORRIBLE on offense and defense. Bogut was the only one guarding him decently.

and on a side note...Lonzo...guy is way better than that. His shot is ugly BUT it can go in. It's all confidence at this point and he's definitely lacking it.

And I've had enough of these damn BS Randle offensive rebound pump fake to oblivion followed by a missed layup when his whole team is wide open. Randle has never heard of a offensive rebound kick out for 3.

Either it has been addressed with Randle and he refuses to listen or Luke is way more inept than I think. How is this still happening on the last year of his rookie deal.

This was a winnable game in the 4th quarter when Lonzo wasn't playing. So how was it his fault? Oh, yeah. Let's blame Lonzo like we did DLO for everything wrong with the team.

Not matching up with Embiid with another big is a mistake, but if Luke insists on going small, then you must double team Embiid in the post. Coaching very questionable. Taking BI out with 4 mins to play wasn't great either, even with his minutes being high.

Theres a large amount of Philly fans who think they got a legitimate shot at landing Lebron James.

Im not saying we get Lebron for sure but lol at him settling his family down in Pennsylvania

The real pipedream to let go is thinking Randle is going to be any better then Trevor Booker of the nets

They should honor Sam Hinke in Philly for building them such a promising team....I'm scared of them becoming a destination over us for big name free agents like Lebron.

I missed the game but did Embiid seriously get 46/15/7 against us? And Simmons was a rebound shy of another triple double.

At least BI had a good game 26/11, nice!

We are so screwed. Why would any max free agent play here? PG is coming. LeBron isn't coming. Westbrook resigned. CP3 is over the hill.
