Is the draft deep enough where the Lakers should consider pulling another Josh Hart like trade and move down a bit to pick up another asset? Atlanta would fit that bill with the 30th and 33th picks for the 25th. Or perhaps Brooklyn again with the less appealing 29th and 40th picks.

Yes, yes it is. We could get a real contributor in the late 30s. I doubt teams are going to be jumping at the chance to give us another pick to possibly get a steal, though. Salty mFs

Hmm, really? I get the sense there's a drop off shortly after the first round. I think there's some legit talent in the 20s tho

Depends who slips.

Ya I always assume that at least some of the talent I like will slip about 8-10 spots. There's always always surprise picks

Well, you never know until draft day. I don't think any team is not gonna listen to a reasonable offer just because the team was successful in a similar trade.

Atlanta or Brooklyn must see someone they really like falling for them to consider the trade since they both have cap space and aren't contending enough to consider giving up assets.

Another possibility is the Sixers at 26th and either 38th/39th picks. Since they're contending they probably would be the most willing to give up their picks to move up. The only issue is just one spot would only happen if they've targeted someone they really want and projected to have been in the teens that dropped on the Lakers lap. Heck, they might even just give up both second rounders if he's that valued.

Some interesting potential draft trade proposals for the 25th:
Philadelphia - 26 + 38 or 26 + 39
Brooklyn - 29 + 40
Atlanta - 30 + 33

Is it outlandish if we use one of our picks on LiAngelo? Would that be a wasted pick? Genuinely wondering.

Yes, it is outlandish.

Is it because of his time spent in jail?
Strictly based on basketball ability, is the projected 47th pick on a much higher level than LiAngelo?

Much higher level than LiAngelo. Like, 2 tiers of player talent.

I think mid 20s to early 40s is the same tier of player, but I do like the talent at mid 20s MUCH more.

I can't find any good footage.

Footage (not necessarily good):

Story about his season (not necessarily good either)
Quote:
“With Jarred’s skill package, he’s comfortable everywhere on the floor,” he said. “Before the injury, he played everywhere from point guard to center, and everywhere in between. . . . He visually sees the game like a point guard. He happens to be 6-11.”

His workouts and PreDraft scrimmages have to show everything for his draft position.

he was very intriguing coming out of high school....was the highest ranked prospect in UK's #2 ranked class....but guy was out most of the year. Also, I am not sure about the 6'11" measurement...always saw him listed @ 6'9" and a SF. I could actually see a scenario where if he shows out in predraft workouts, he could skyrocket up the boards.

I never said that the footage was "good" or "useful." It is just footage.

^I wasn't judging the footage, just making a general statement about his draft stock.

*FYI: he has NOT signed with an agent.
Quote:
Jarred Vanderbilt became the sixth Kentucky player to enter his name in this year’s NBA Draft. He said he would not hire an agent, which left open the possibility of returning to UK next season.

I recall Lamar Odom comps coming out of high school.....SF or Combo Forward with great handles.

Handles like Odom. Facilitates fairly well. Rebounds (and shoots it) like Rodman.

Has had a lot of foot issues. May need surgery. Will be kind of surprised (though not shocked) if he stays in the draft.

Several mock drafts have us picking Jontay Porter (Michael's brother) or A. Holiday @ 25 but IMO if we can get a player, with decent upside that we can develop into a contributor, out of the either draft pick we will be ahead of the game.

Depending on how quickly Jontay gets comfortable in the league, he basically does what we like best out of Brook Lopez, but better.

Mortiz Wagner potentially could fit that mold to. He is mature, tough and a good shooter from deep.
