Where would you take Simmons or Giannis in a redraft? |
Cmon. A 6'10 PG. And a long/skilled 6'11 point-forward.. Bagley isn't a skill+freak like that. |
Didn’t he freak go around 15th in his draft? At the time he was just an athlete, nowhere near the product he is now. Bagley is more put together than the freak was at his age.
Bagley goes top 3 in my opinion. |
Sure he probably goes top 5. But I just see him as a quicker skinny Randle who may be a mediocre rebounder because he's so skinny
The PF/C from MSU think it's Jackson, I like him a good deal. I'll even take the other PF Bridges over Bagley at the next level.. shooting is a game opener/closer for me in the NBA, too important |
Bagley is much quicker and more explosive than Randle, which is in part why we're seeing his .638 TS% versus Julius' .567 TS% at Kentucky. Bagley also has that scorer's knack for getting shots up - 23.5 FGAs per 100 poss. versus 19.2 for Randle - and he has a more consistent motor than Randle displayed in college. That intersection of elite motor, quick twitch athleticism, and efficiency at the rim make Bagley a little bit more intriguing prospect than Julius was - and my closest comparable for Bagley is actually John Collins - but he is a center on offense, and a non-rim-protecting PF on defense. That's generally a subpar combo in today's NBA (see Julius' fit issues), but Bagley may be so explosive and hyperactive that he overcomes that to a greater degree than Julius has even without a jumper.
Of course, in this draft that drops Bagley below bigs like Ayton and Bamba, imo, and brings lower ceiling/better fit bigs like Jackson and Wendell Carter into play ahead of him. But I'll be damned if I buy into Miles Bridges' hype, KiROE: Bagley is the much better prospect. |

Bagley is like Trinity College Shawn Kemp/Pre-muscled out Serge Ibaka.
Guard twitch and elite motor make him play bigger than he actually is. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Trae Young comes down shoots a 28 footer in transition....splash! Then next possession comes down crosses half court, shoots a contested 34 footer....brick! If I am his teammate, I am getting a little tired of those stupid shots....I run all the way down the court...get set up, and he wastes a possession. |

Can he throw down a 2 handed reverse dunk like Shawn? |

Is that 1st half or 2nd?
I think he only took 4 shots in the first half right? Trying to change his approach. |

it was with less than 10 minutes left in game when the sequence happened that I referred to....he played a much more controlled and team friendly game today....and I am thankful they beat Kansas. He just has to understand that even for him, that shot probably goes in 15% of the time....and its not fair to his teammates. He has the capability to always get a better shot than a 34 footer with a hand in his face and 25 seconds on the shot clock. I like the kid...uber talented...unmatched shot making ability...totally wows me everytime I watch him....just want him to play with a little more self control. That roster has a lot more talent than people give it credit for.....several of their upper classmen are having down years because they are not getting the opportunity. He will need those guys to be confident in March. |

Yea, I agree.
Haven't seen a lot of college basketball yet this year.
Is he on a college Steph Curry level? Or better considering he's doing this as a freshman, where Steph had 3 years in college? |

I cant honestly say I saw a lot of Steph in college outside of the NCAA Tournament....but per the metrics, Steph never dominated college basketball like Trae Young is doing in the deepest conference in the country. Some games, he appears to have Steph's NBA shot making ability right now. If he is not contested....he can literally pull up from anywhere past half court. Every night, the defense is 99% keyed in on him....probably was true for Steph also....but Big 12 defenses are better than what Steph saw every night @ Davidson. |

I realize that Duke has the talent, but WF looked more sloppy - unorganized than I had expected. |

Mike, sorry but the secret's out on Hutchison. Shamet a huge riser, wasn't even in the top 60 for DX's last draft board. Keita Bates-Diop up 29 slots as well from previous draft board. Jevon Carter also big time riser, up 24 slots to 34 (and out of our range).
of the guys in our range alkins, kulboka, colson, trier, and johnson are the only ones i'm really looking at. not impressed with the rest _________________ substance over style |

I watched Bagley while he was in high school. He was good but he didn't stand out as the best player in the nation
What he is doing now at Duke is slightly impressive but I don't see him in the Ant Davis, Ben Simmons, or Freak tier.
I have him pegged in around the 4-6 range
I think the two absolute steals in next years draft are the two USC forwards.
If they get drafted currently where they are mocked, Metu in the 2nd and Boatwright undrafted, something is seriously wrong with the scouts.
Their games are so much more suited for the current NBA. |

Trae 7th? Is they drunk ? After personally seeing more of his quickness - I'm going to quote Kuzma's trainers saying and "not overthink this" .. Shooting upside is Dame as a medium outcome, a tick under elite quickness, solid-good passer. 6'1.5" .. I'm taking that as a guard as 44theLogo always says, guards are the most valuable draft em |

Having watched very little college basketball yet this season, I will just say that I really liked what I saw from Trier last season and would've been interested in him even in last year's draft, had he declared. He would be very intriguing to me with the Denver pick, and a quick look at his stats shows that his numbers look better (.677 TS %!!!). Having just turned 22 and at 6'4 190, I think he could contribute right away, too.
Can anyone comment on how he's looked this season compared to last year, absent the TS % stat I just mentioned? Would be much appreciated. |
