That seems very plausible.

That would mean they gave up on the three FAs then if they are going for quality over depth.

But maybe not the Lebron/George plan.

Well done, Maginka! I like it and they clearly like a few folks early in the second.

I know one cat that could slip to #39 that I would love to have.....probably as much as I want Kawhi on an emotional level.

If they keep #39 and he falls, he'd be the perfect pick there.

I would love if we traded #25 to Hawks for #30 and #34 though probably unrealistic.

with 30, 34, 39, 47 we could walk away with:

• Jevon Carter
• Anferne Simons
• Mitchell Robinson
• Svi

Either that or turning around to flip the 25th pick. Not sure how far those two picks get you. Not a whole lot of precedent either.

Why do the Lakers want an extra second-rounder this year? Second-round picks don’t count against the cap until signed, and they can always slightly sweeten a trade offer. They’re helpful for a team with big plans and little wiggle room.

That's the plan I want anyway... so I'd be happy in that scenario.

But who knows... maybe they get a higher asset that they know the Spurs want and package it with only one of our youngsters.

It will be interesting...

I think we may trade the 25th pick as part of getting rid of Deng. And 2nd founders are cheaper than a 25th pick too.

That's probably exactly it.

They probably were talking to someone like Atlanta and offered the first and second with Deng and Atlanta said add one more pick and it's a deal.

Having a hard time seeing us actually using all 3 picks, we already had 3 new draftees last year that are definitely getting minutes.

I see this as picks (plus future picks) to combine with two/three of the kids.

For instance 1kid +picks to get rid of deng.
2kids + picks to make a run at Leonard.

The Lakers brought Arizona's Allonzo Trier in for a second workout this week, according to league sources. The Lakers are looking to improve their shooting and Trier shot better in the second workout than his first according to sources. The 6-5 guard's stock could be rising.

If I had to take a wild guess....I would probably also choose this at the most likely out of the 100 options. They have a handful of guys they like in the Top 40, and they want to grab one while moving or at least having the option to move the #25.
