Kind of felt they would trade out of the first round to free up some more $$, but who knows. Seems for sure that another trade is coming of some type.

Could be a setup for 2 trades: Deng and this years 1st for Lebron, the second round picks and next years first for George.

They are free agents. Why?

why would we trade picks for PG or LeBron when we can sign them with our cap room?

Why be Greedy like this some Pokemon Game? KL said he coming regardless...cant we trade whatever team that gets him at trade deadlne when Deng's contract becomes a expiring?

If we could get Simmons at 39, that would be a steal. I don't think he lasts that long.

Remember when it seemed like we hit a period that we made no moves?

Damn I miss the Lakers being sneaky during this time.

Philly and LA remain linked at this time of year. Picked 2 & 3 in 2015, 1 & 2 in 2016, 1 & 2 in 2017, this year Philly has LA's pick at 10 and traded 2nds in 2018. Just kind of interesting.

Trading for 39 seems to signal 25 is on the move. LA already has lots of youth on the roster and adding two (or three) more rookies seems unlikely.

Is there any teams that can absorb Deng in a trade draft night? I guess teams can agree to a trade and not finish it till after July 1st so I guess that doesn't matter much. I do feel like we may be 24 hours away from Deng finally be gone.

Which would put us in a position to keep Randle + sign 2 max guys or to go to the Spurs with a Kawhi trade where they don't have to take Deng.

Yeah 25 and maybe 47 is now spoken for. If you think about it... that’s why you add a third pick to a team already with enough youth and about to get vets

Apparently the Sixers have already received the max in cash via trade for this calendar year, so this deal can't be completed until the start of the new calendar year. So that means the Sixers are picking for the Lakers, and probably complicates the Lakers ability to trade up.

If I had to take a wild guess....I would probably also choose this at the most likely out of the 100 options. They have a handful of guys they like in the Top 40, and they want to grab one while moving or at least having the option to move the #25.

Yup. They have a potential Deng trade on the table for #25 and they wanted to move back into the top 40 for someone they like.

I still feel Trier will be available at #47, though. I hope he's not the pick at #39.

It’s time. The game plan is set. The contingencies lined up. The speed dials are programmed and tested, the door's closed, the light's out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard, and the jello's jiggling.

off topic question...not sure where to ask...in regards to the NBA Executive of the Year award....who from the Lakers has the ability to win that going forward? Is it Magic or Rob? When I looked up the award, it specifically says it is given to a General Manger....but is that only if the GM is the highest basketball ops position?
