If we sign PG and LeBron... doesn't Shamet become the best choice in case Ball is injured or struggles with his shot?
Offensively, that would make sense.
Defensively? No.
I mean if you draft Shamet and don't land the right FAs, you basically lost in a game of Game Theory. Didn't get BPA. Didn't get FA. You've got a Dynamic shooter with some passing ability.
If you draft someone like Hutch, but don't land the right FAs, at least (I think) you land the BPA and potential starter/2-way player. Streaky shooter? Sure, but at least he can create his own shot, shots for others, and defend 1 position well with some possibility of switching onto 2s by situation.
It just seems like a lot of the top teams have an outlier type 40% 3 pt shooter like an Ingles, a Redick, a Mirotic... not mentioning GSW fleet of sharpshooters.
I want one for us somehow. What you say makes sense... but it seems like we need at least one great shooter.

Oh believe me, I want the same. GSW drafted shooters but those guys self developed. Embiid? He developed that jumpshot the time he was out injured. Josh Hart? Wasn't supposed to be, but ended up a 40% 3-point shooter.
Even Paul George made himself a 3pt shooter. He wasn't specifically drafted for shooting.
This is why I want to be in a draft war room. Scouts may see the same qualities of the same guy, but value strengths and opportunities differently. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

This video shows exactly why I have issues with Musa and have had issues with him.all along. Shooter who doesn't shoot well, scorer who doesn't do a great job scoring, ball handler who makes bad decision. The guy just plays an overall inefficient brand of basketball. I honestly don't think Luke is the right coach for a guy like Musa.
Yeah man, I just can't.
I have him back and forth late 40s/early 50s in most of my big boards. That's only with the mindset he be left overseas until he either becomes a consistent efficient player who can be a SG or he gets enough overseas hype that we can get a future pick for him.
A random dude on twitter told me the age was a lie, fwiw. Apparently he likes to live "the life"
Nah to Musa
I double the Nah. I just never understood why Musa was ranked so high.
6'9 shoot+dribble....
the combination of handle. fluidity, and size are what jumps out to me most. he's definitely better than 40s/50s in this draft and to have him in the 40s/50s is a pretty ridiculous position to take unless you're willing to share the 40 names you have above him. musa clearly has a skill and size combination that is NBA caliber. musa may end up being a bogdan bogdanovic type story. maybe musa won't show out for his draft team, and might just be a draft+stash to bring over in a few years, but i'd keep an eye on him for his second contract.
Obviously it's my OWN personal big board (top 60) so obviously our opinions are going to differ. But I'll PM you with my list so I'm not blowing up the thread with a huge list.

No. I think Melton can be a special defender. I think for a guy that has a sub-average jumper during his freshman year, he's a considerably better playmaker. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

anyone listen to the Rice Commission this morning, or read the report? Any thoughts?
The one item that I have issue with is the recommendation to allow players to fully go through the draft, and as long as they do not sign a NBA contract, they can return to college. I get that it sounds good....but it only invites chaos at both levels.
- for an NBA team....what happens when a team uses a late 1st or even 2nd Round pick on a player, and the player decides to return to school to improve their draft position? How is the team compensated?
- for a college program....how do you construct a roster when you do not know who is returning or needs replaced until late in the summer?
- why would every player not enter the draft every year?
Sagaba Konate declared... there's our rim protector... one of the best blockers in the nation and he can shoot 79% from the line. Good player to consider if we take a guard in the first round.

I'm really trying to get hyped about this 25th pick, but not sure we will keep the player. Hmm. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

he has not hired agent, right?
Just saw him on that list... liked what I saw from him, though I remember you said you thought he might not be ready yet.
His release isn't that quick-- maybe it would improve with better footwork (the one-two into his shot does affect)? _________________ (Deal 2 firsts to off-load Deng)
