Star Missouri freshman Michael Porter, Jr. (6'10 SF/PF) will miss the season with a lower back injury. He finishes his college career after two minutes with two points scored.

I know it's a bit early for the 2019 draft (almost 2 years away), but if we keep our draft pick somehow we can find another gem, depending on how the one & done rule change plays out! That draft could be extremely deep.

I have a hunch that scouts are looking as far as 4 years ahead. But so much happens within a year, nevermind two.

The Stepien, imo.

Thank you for that mention since I had never heard of it until today.

Are their writers/analysts considered to be about equal or is there a star or two in the group?

Personal opinion. They go into more in depth and use more draft specific terminology than Mike and Jonathan Givony of former DX.

Every one of those guys is worth the read.

Interesting that you guys mentioned that site. Had never heard of it. Went to go check it out, and they had just posted a Lonzo Ball write up a few hours ago. "Assessing Lonzo Ball and Putting Players in a Position to Succeed".

Gonna add to the Lonzo Ball thread.

Yeah, Zwicker and I had a handful of conversations about Zo's weaknesses last year. I haven't even read that article yet.

I'm guessing that it'll be about his shooting, his best playtypes at UCLA w examples, and the emphasis on off-ball play.

Svi is my guy late in the second. Still a young player for his class. Good size for his position and a good shooter.

For whatever reason, I'm not really bought into this draft yet. The only guys that I've liked are Knox from Kentucky, Bruce Brown from yesteryear (lottery now), Mo Bomba (still offensive project but at worst, a PnDive C with super swat abilities).

DeAnthony Melton of USC and Mikal Bridges of Villanova are kind of my favorite players, even if they're role players. Just more complete games within their skill sets without getting away with athletic talent.

I even watch a good part of DeAndre Ayton and yet, find him mechanically slow in the post and really wonder how he gets so badly lost on PnR D.

I had clear feel of what Mike Schmitz meant when they used certain words/phrases to describe a player in terms of IQ, motor, quickness, agility, etc. I have to reset that, especially in terms of ball-handling abilities w the guys from the Stepien.

Kind of just looking forward to Troy Brown, a great feel PG, legit measurables, skills, but average athlete.

I'm very much on board with this class early, though I would've liked to have seen Porter, Jr., Mitchell Robinson, and Anfernee Simmons against college or overseas pro talent. But there's legit star talent up top in Doncic and possibly Ayton (I've been impressed with flashes of passing acumen), Bagley, Bamba, and Porter. Throw in a couple Myles Turner-ish unicorn bigs in Carter and Jackson, a gifted young PG in Sexton who I think will rank favorably with Fox/Smith/Ntilikina by the end of the year, and a depth of upside-y perimeter defenders (Bridges, Melton, Evans, Justin Jackson, Akot, possibly Vanderbilt and Pons) and some interesting late-1st/early-2nd guards like Alkins, Shamet, Trier, etc., and I think it'll prove a talented class on par with 2015 in the lottery with a bit better depth.

Really excited to watch Mo Bamba of Texas against Duke today. The guy is absolutely massive (7'9 wingspan), and has demonstrated some surprising offensive skill to go along with 4.3 blocks/game through 3 games.

I've only paid attention to his baseline raw offensive skills. Those wings make up for a lot of defensive mistakes laterally.

Terrible PG play and they really need Alkins back (he may have taken money, though, so he may have a suspension on top of his injury).

I'd say Deandre Ayton and Marvin Bagley are the top of the draft from an NCAA standpoint.

I think Luka Doncic is the other though he's not in the NCAA.

The top of this draft is going to be really interesting. You have Bagley and Ayton putting up monster numbers in the NCAA, and then Doncic putting up crazy numbers against grown men in the 2nd best league in the world. Then you have Porter, who was supposed to be better than all of them, injured and not able to play.

Too bad we don't have a draft pick, would've been fun to truly get in to this madness haha (although it would be even more fun if we were good enough to make the PO's).

The little I've seen of Bagley, I see a guy completely getting away with motor/twitch/athleticism at the NCAA level and getting away with being incredibly productive.

Usually that's indicative of tremendous upside. However, his foundation of triple threat skills is lower than the other bigs on Duke, especially with ball-handling, post footwork, and shooting.

As for mid 2nds, I only have:

JP Macura

Kerwin Roach Jr

Payton Pritchard

I did not actually catch the game, but due to a brawl and foul trouble....Alabama was forced to finish their game against Minnesota playing 3 on 5! Reports are that Alabama actually made a run with only 3 players...but came up short.

Collin Sexton had a great line...40 Points, 6 Rebounds, 5 Assists

Hitting 3s off the dribble with 1 - 1/2 guys on him.

Collin Sexton is my top college guy so far and #2 on my early board behind Doncic. He compares very favorably with Fultz and DSJ as a near elite scoring lead guard prospect.

Bagley's tweener offensive game might be an awkward fit in the NBA, but his motor is elite and with his athleticism could make him a productive player as his perimeter skills catch up.

Kevin Knox is the best non-Bridges (Miles/Mikal) wing in college, and could surpass both with his impressive shot off the catch and the bounce.

Trae Young doesn't make sense as a top NBA prospect with his mediocre size and athleticism, but he could be an intriguing option for the Lakers in the second round if he declares as a gunner Tyus Jones.

watched him in 2 or 3 games this year...he is definitely talented. Good size...6'6" Shooting Guard.

Tonight he really screwed up...giving the ball away with less than 10 seconds to go, and only down 1 to Duke. Had a really good game until that play with a line of....

24 Points / 10 Rebounds / 3 Assists / 3 Steals / 1 Block...50% FG (10 of 20), 33% 3FG% ( 2 of 6) and 2 of 3 from the line.

Jevon Carter had another solid night for WVU....might be around late in the 2nd Round!!!

29 Points / 4 Rebounds / 3 Assists / 4 Steals...5 of 9 from 3 and 8 of 8 from the free throw line.

hit some huge shots in crunch time to get the win...leads the country in steals.
