I know it's early, and just 15 games in. But we are probably right where a lot of folks predicted we'd be. This is with Lonzo struggling too, so I think we are actually right on track (and can do better once Lonzo picks it up and Nance returns). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Agreed. However, i don't think we will remain a top 7 defense for the year. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I guess this is how spoiled we really are. We are on pace to beat our over/under and we are in every single game we play, but losing puts a negative feeling in our lives. You can say we are over-achieving in some areas like defense and the development of Kuzma, Ingram, Randle, Nance, & Clarkson. But with every close loss we want Luke's head. We barely lose to a historic performance and we feel like we're the Dodgers losing the WS. Maybe all this is a good thing underneath it all. Maybe this once bad team is finally headed in the right direction and as fans we are just catching up it. |

Becoming a playoff team again is very difficult, especially when our open secret is 2018 offseason.
33-34 wins would be a tremendous achievement IMO. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I can live with that number, but I agree with the person who said if our shooting improves, it could be significantly higher. All that I care about is that the youngsters continue to develop and compete, so that the elite FAs come. Sure we were 10 and 10... and a similar situation could develop this season because we have a weak run of games followed by a tough December... However, the difference must be that the team and fans cannot lose hope if we go from 10-10 again to 12 and 20... unlike last year the team must keep battling... and continue to hover close to .500 rather than folding completely as we did last year. If we play like this all season... compete, be close in every game... the FAs will be here next year. |

BTW, we have a tough stretch of games to close out 2017.
The key will be to realize that 2018 is much kinder schedule-wise, and not to panic about how we close out 2017. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I expect some pain in December and January as the Lakers have yet to face any of the West's top five teams, but they'll bounce back in March/April as other teams try to tank.
30-35 wins continues to seem reasonable health permitting. |

During the early part of the season, teams win games that they shouldn't and lose some that they should win... the money period is Dec-Jan-Feb. That's when everything is settled and teams are playing at their proper level. We'll see how we fare then. _________________ "He may say it's not you, it's him.... but it's really you." |

33 wins would be fine.
We would only have a 6% chance at a Top 3 pick. So, most likely we would send the 9th pick to Philly to close out all the old major trades from Nash, D12, etc. |

We could easily be a game or two over .500 right now if not for a few shots and bounces of the ball go our way.
Pels
Blazers
Boston
Philly
If we steal two of those games we are at 8-7 |

I wasn't expecting playoffs, so I'm ok with it.
I hate that we'll likely go lottery yet again, and despite what will likely be 5 years in a tow of lottery, we won't even have one franchise level top 15 player in the league to show for it. Ingram will be good, Ball may become very good, but #1 options or near MVPs I don't see for them. Same was Russ (already traded) and Randle (soon to be let go). This year's pick, we lose, right? So we'd have gone 5 straight years and not been able to get either a winning team together or what the Sixers (Embiid/Simmons) Knicks (Porzingis) Bucks (Giannis) Celtics (Kyrie) have. Which is a young player as your #1 you can build your team around.
Looking back, may have been wise to get in on the Kyrie sweepstakes if he were interested in the Lakers. |

In retrospect, you may be right, that we could have moved one or more of the #2 picks. But still too soon to tell. It's not coincidental that some of the top young players are physical specimens (Embiid, Simmons, etc.) and that our guys may bloom a bit later. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

well, my hope for .500 and the 8th seed is getting dimmer with each L. Still liking the progress tho, playing hard defense and actually had a chance to win in most of the Ls. |

There are two ways to build good teams.
One is to get that player who I am mentioning about, and then waiting until you get him and then make the other moves.
The other is to get a number of really good players together.
We were likely doing the latter with the Mitch/Jim era, and it was probably going to work out at some point. Keep Russ, draft Ball or Jackson (or Tatum or whomever they would have chosen). Keep Randle, Ingram etc. Now in 2 years you have a really deep team. Even if those guys are not top 10 players, they would be many really good players on that team.
It seems then came in Magic and Pelinka, they flushed that down the toilet and went all in with the Lebron/2 Max FA plan + Ingram/Ball plan. My concern is we will neither be what Magic thinks we could be (because I am not with Magic on his opinion of Ingram) nor will be the team that Mitch/Jim were building.
Anyway, 33-35 wins is a step in the right direction. I just hope we're not stuck like many teams have been where they go 8-10 years without the playoffs and no star franchise player to show for it. The Sacramento Kings come to mind ...... |

If defense can remain the same and they improve on 3 point shooting; they could hit 35+.
With current defense, they should get 30 even with subpar 3 point shooting. |

Yes, let’s revisit this on January 1 after our December schedule. We won’t play Phoenix 3 Times that month. But we are now close to what I thought would be our optimal number of wins (35). _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

30-52 is my expectation. They'll hand Philly a pick between 7-10. Will hurt, but Lakers have had enough picks. _________________ 17 time World Champions |

Yeah. I think our 3% increases while our defense settles down towards middle of the pack.
But we should be optimistic that we are on such a good pace. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
