they will likely struggle a little more than expected without Bonzie Colson.

But it was so winnable.

So for those who criticized UCLA's 2017 defense and pinned it in part on Lonzo last season:

Ken Pom's Adj Drtg (national rank):

2016: 118
2017: 85 (Lonzo)
2018: 118

I think Steve Alford might be a poor defensive coach.

if the FBI is investigating college basketball, maybe they can take a break and look into how two teams can play in Lawrence, Kansas....and the home team gets awarded 35 free throws and the away team shoots 2 free throws the entire game.

Now I'm starting to wonder about his brother(the IU coach)

Regardless this isn't surprising crazy yes but not surprising when you factor in how the NCAA has the one and done rule.

Guess he never heard of a burner phone.

Well first they have to get players......and lots of players turned him down already....
My guess is if somebody wants to get an pre-NBA league going it might as well be one of the established shoe companies like Nike or Addidas. They actually have the capital to get something going that will attract both coaches with a legacy and the top recruits.

NCAA is once again using the NIT as a laboratory

Quote:
Four alterations to the college rulebook will be made in the NIT. They are:

• The 3-point line will be extended by approximately 1 foot 8 inches to the same distance used by FIBA for international competition (22 feet 1.75 inches).
• The free throw lane will be widened from 12 feet to 16 feet, consistent with the width used by the NBA.
• The games will be divided into four 10-minute quarters as opposed to two 20-minute halves. Teams will shoot two free throws beginning with the fifth foul of each quarter.
• The shot clock will reset to 20 seconds after an offensive rebound instead of the full 30 seconds.

Personally, I have long been a Penny Hardaway fan, but I find Memphis hiring him as their head coach distasteful. He is clearly unqualified for the position, and was only given the position due to his personal relationship with top recruits through his AAU/High School coaching.

In the process, Memphis fired a head coach that has won a National Championship and was having success in rebuilding the Memphis program. I think it sets a terrible precedence for adults to continue exploiting their relationships with youth for personal benefit.

Big East recommends replacing one-and-done with two-or-none

Quote:
The Big East has recommended replacing one-and-done with a two-or-none policy in college basketball, along with NCAA regulation of agents and the creation of an elite player unit to focus on "players with realistic aspirations of playing in the NBA."

The Big East's recommendations come a week after a similar report by the Pac-12 for the NCAA's commission on college basketball, led by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The commission was created in response to a federal investigation into corruption in college basketball.

Close but no cigar.

I guess it isn't too surprising.

Had a nice run but lets face it in the end its the names that get in the big game(Michigan/Villanova)

At least that game was competitive.

The Kansas/Villanova one was

The women's game with UConn vs ND was way better
