Wizards
Raptors
Jazz
Pistons
Trailblazers.

That's a rough 5 game stretch, with maybe the Pistons being the only team that we have a shot at beating. Hoping against it, but a 1-7 start may be possible, more likely 2-6. Yikes.

Some tough games. All we can hope for is they compete and continue to grow and show signs of improvement. As always, no chance until that defense improves.

Tough matchups coming up for Lonzo with Wall, Bradley, Lillard, etc.

Don't forget Lowry. Can be a pest to dribble against.

I'm hoping we can beat the Pistons/Trailblazers.

DRoz has usually had his way with KCP historically, so that might be rough.

No doubt. I watched most of pistons/wizards and Celtics/sixers on Friday. Avery Bradley had a great game, dude is tough. John Wall, enough said. The way the lakers can hang with wizards is to take advantage of that bench. The look on Scott Brooks face is priceless after watching his bench blow leads built by Wall and starting 5. Pistons look better than last season imo. Kennard and Bradley are solid additions.

I think they go 1-4 with the only win coming against Utah.

Rubio is a good match for Lonzo, and Gobert is just a nightmare to score against. They're going to be the 1990s Cavs that eked out wins by playing defense and absolutely slowing down the pace of the game. They put the clamps on the mighty OKC scoring trio.

1-4 sounds about right. They will pull one out.

I’ll say they beat wizards or raptors, just can’t see a win in Utah.

I'm only going off preseason, but I didn't think the Jazz game was out of reach. A couple of smart plays late in the game, without Brandon Ingram going iso against Gobert and trying to lay it up through him, and the outcome of that game could have been different.

Utah is the only away game, the rest are in Staples.

All 5 of these teams are off to decent starts, for what that's worth 3 games in.

2 wins in the next 5 games would be a pretty good accomplishment for this squad as it stands right now.
(Edit - Portland game's at the Rose Garden, or "Moda Center" as it's tragically been renamed)

I think they go winless in that stretch with a couple humbling blowout losses.

I added the home and away. If we can't beat the Pistons at home, we're looking at a sub-25 win season. I'd like to say that we could beat the Raptors, but I don't see it right now. I'll go with 1-4.

If Luke keeps his rotations the way they are I'd expect us to go winless.

Thanks AH. I should have also focused on whether it's back to back, how many games in how many nights.

Monday morning. Tired.

Good point. Utah is the second game of a back to back. The scheduling gods seem to think it’s funny to send up to high altitude on back to backs. That could be an ugly game for a team that is still trying to figure it out.

Hard to predict wins/losses at this point. Which team shows up?

The one that turns the ball over repeatedly, shoots 30 FG% and plays little to no defense.

Or the one that plays with energy on defense , passes the ball, shoots 55 FG% and looks like a legitimate NBA team instead of a confused JV HS team.

Still learning how to play together and develop some kind of chemistry in game situations. Play hard and eliminate the repeated bad decisions and turnovers and I can see them surprise some teams.

I tend to look at the season in blocks of 10. How many of those blocks can they go 5-5? With the hope of a 4-6 being balanced by a 6-4 at some point of the season. They need to avoid long losing streaks or "hope" for a solid 10 game block to offset the losses. Just my own personal brand of craziness!

This 10 game block would include Brooklyn and Memphis.

Can they win 3 of the next 7 to end the block at 4-6 and set up the next block? I think they can. Now they just need to prove it.

With this team, I wouldn't be surprised if they won all the games.
And I wouldn't be surprised if they lost them all.
Besides the Clippers game, I've really enjoyed the last 2 games.
