Was going to post this in the NN thread but it has nothing to do with NN. Long story short, if you feel like your older iPhone performance degrades with age, it is by design.

Apple throttles CPU speeds as the battery loses life, and according to Apple, that is done to maximize remaining battery life. Or is it?

One more reason I'll never buy an iphone. But c'mon I think we all know the reason for doing this. It's so you buy the new product!

Planned obsolescence. Same reason battery isn't easily replaceable.

Apple making consumer unfriendly devices will eventually be their undoing.....maybe not today or tomorrow but people have long memories.
