One of the all-time greats. Baseball, football, tennis, you name it. Of course, he spent so many years as a voice of SoCal sports, calling Rams games, Angels games, UCLA games, and Padres games.

RIP, Mr. Enberg.

Oh my....

Legendary broadcaster, would have been a part of the Big 4 if he kept doing Ram games as he was doing in the 70s (with Hearn, Scully, Miller) but he was destined for bigger things.

Class act always, RIP Dick Enberg....

I'd take Enberg over Marv Albert, because I think Enberg's quality of work across more sports was better, but there's no denying that Marv is probably the second-best basketball announcer who ever lived. (Behind Chick, of course.)

We were lucky to grow up with many of the greatest play-by-play broadcasters of all time. Dick was one of them. RIP.

Unquestionably one of the greatest to ever call sports and a voice that will forever be engrained in my mind.

RIP

Just heard it on Sports Center. Dick was similar to Chick, hard to label him a homer. He broadcast what he saw. LINK RIP

Great one. Most of my faves are gone. Chick, Enberg, Skip Caray, Hot Rod (TNT/TBS broadcasts back in the 80s), Costas retired, Marv holding on, but won't last forever.

Like others said above, Dick was from the old, old multisports school with Chick. Gents who could do a good job at covering most sports on a whim. Plus, charisma of a game show host. Put the camera on them and they know what to do without the cue cards. Put them in a room with strangers and they quickly and easily acclimate to it (a compliment Marge made to Chick). Dick was one of those affable, gregarious, classy, unbiased, happy-for-any-athlete-based-on-merit, well-liked faces around the league for many years. Without question, cut from the same cloth as Chick. Silver foxes. RIP and thank you, Sir.
