With this loss we go to the all star break 500. I dont mind this one because now the Lakes got motivation now it's time to look at themselves in the mirror and say who are we as a team? are we going to the lottery or the playoffs? They got 5 days to think about this and I think after the all star break this team will go on a long win streak one that will prove the doubters wrong and make the playoffs as the Pacific Division winners you can Book this because I can promise you that KOBE BRYANT will put them on his back and win and make his teamates better by sharing his desire and will with his teamates. Now the real season begins |

I disagree. A loss like this is only gonna damage them even more. This is a young squad. Wins bring them conifidence. Over the season, its always been a pattern where when we lose, we lose in bunches. _________________ Pain is temporary, at the end of pain is success... |

There is no positive from this game. We played horrible. WE couldn't defend or rebound. And that's what makes a winning team. Defending and rebounding. And, we can't rebound having a lineup like this Cook, George, Lamar, Kobe, Smush. So, George is playing PF? What's up with that? |

This team's defense has collapsed.
They should be embarrased for allowing 114 points at home to the Hawks. If they have any pride at all, they'll show up with a better showing next time out. |

My hope is that this loss shames and scares the front office into making a deal. This roster has proven itself to be what it is, a yo-yo, up and down .500 team, maybe a little better if they clamp down and focus (which is an inherent problem with this team). |

If they come out next time with a comparable effort, some heads are gonna roll. _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam

Sorry, but this team isnt going to get motivated. No one on this team, outside of Kobe has any nads to care one way or another. |

I saw Butler. He played well
But what is the point. Some of us already knows that kupcake is bad.
You don't have to convince me. |

Highly doubt that we will make a trade. Isn't Mitch Kupcake still on vacation. Just collect those paychecks Mitch. Just collect those paychecks. Everyone on this team besides Kobe don't play all out. They don't have pride. And, Mitch shouldn't even be a GM in this league. It boils down from the FO. Mitch is lazy and dumb. And look so is our team. Wow. |

I disagree. It's not about effort. It's about the fact that nobody outside of Kobe and Odom is talented enough to contribute right now. |

Eh? Scoring wasn't the problem, but defense. _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam

when you see three lakers stand and watch while the opponents grab a rebound right in front of them....and you watch it over and over and over the entire season you gotta wonder if it really isn't about effort.
Our bad stretch which started on the road trip pretty much coincides with serious lack of defense. We're letting teams get high FG%, and score beyond their season average. Its defense we seriously lack and since I know this team was playing far better D early in the year, I think it truly is about motivation. Defense doesn't take much talent...mostly effort imo. |

Actually, it is about effort. If they played with proper intensity throughout the whole game, this loss doesn't happen. How else do you explain this same team getting a up on the Hawks early in the first-quarter? Clearly they can play, as long as they make the effort. Look at the boxscore, it was a balanced scoring effort; the only thing that was lacking was freethrow percentage, and defensive intensity; oh, and not making boneheaded mistakes at the end. _________________ "In essence, the trade was: Shaq, Rick Fox and Gary Payton for Odom, Kwame, Mihm, Profit, 2nd round picks, a 1st round pick and 30 million in luxury tax saviings." - LakerJam

And that's why outside of a few players I'm actually starting to hate this team. Losing is one thing, but losing to mediocre teams because you lack intensity is simply unacceptable. Changes need to be made because certain expiriments are simply not working.
One thing I'll never understand is why Smush Parker has not seized this tremendous opportunity by hustling his tail off. I just don't get it. He was handed the starting point guard position on the Los Angeles Lakers and yet he consistently plays non chalant, like he deserves it. Pathetic. |
