I would like to know if Deng can perform better than Brewer. It would be nice, as someone mentioned before , to have his role instead of Brewer. These 10-12 min I think he can be productive little bit more than Corey.
I mean we are paying the guy 18 mil. He can at least play 10 min and give everything he has.

Indy isn't a long drive from Ohio so I'm going to the game in March and I can't believe they're in the playoff race! Can't wait for Lonzo to just add to this.

14-7 since January 7th (basically .666 ball)
9 straight at home

Keeping this rhythm we would be 15-8 the last 23 games of the season, giving us a 40-42 record.

If not for that nine-game skid we could have been looking like play-off contenders at this point.

There were a few tough games in that 9 game stretch, but a few very winnable games as well. We're 25-25 for the rest of our games.

With everybody healthy this team looks about like a .500 team these days. March will be a pretty big test of that assessment of where we are, though.

I hope we stay injury free the next 23 games.

15 - 7 in the last 22 games and we need 16 - 6 for the next 22 games to get to 42 - 40 and a chance for 8th spot... oh my, hard but not completely impossible

If the NBA had a 162 game baseball schedule this young lakers team even without those two "potential" Max deals would be in the hunt for a top 3 seed...

To finish the season at 0.5, we need to go 12-6 for the rest of it. Still feasible.

Totally do-able. We've been playing .666 ball for the last 2 months.

Imagine this team with AD at the center spot....who is pretty much single handedly keeping New Orleans in contention.

Schedule gets a lot tougher again but this team has shown it can keep up with the best teams in the league even early in the season. Some of those close losses we suffered previously will be wins.

If BI comes back healthy and we don't have any more significant injuries, I think its totally doable.

When he comes back is the question I have. I'm not completely convinced they haven't been overcautious in recent years as to setting return dates. The fact that the FO has already said that team culture matters more than W/L tallies, I'm more unsure. Some fans lash out at any suggestion that a player come back earlier than it takes for the injury to heal. I'm not proposing that they should, I'm just saying I think that they might over-err on the side of uber-caution as to the target date on some occasions. Would this be a malady that would've had him getting re-evaluated a week later if they were in the playoffs? Doubt it. With the exception of Kobe, who told them to go hang instead of allowing himself to be encouraged to sit out on a playable injury or a predominantly-healed injury, I think the training staff and coaches have been gunshy since Malone at the latest. They F'd up both his prognosis and Bynum's after his 1st NBA knee injury (landing on Odom's foot). Remember Malone wanting his own team of specialists to check his knee out? It also took them forever to seek an answer to why Bynum's knee kept swelling on plane rides and after his first attempts at practicing post-surgery. They eventually found out he had rough bits on the back side of his patella irritating the tissues they were rubbing against. That was a whole 'nother procedure that Big Boi Drew needed after they waited around with their thumbs up their bums. The next bright idea the team had was to encourage him to bulk up after 2008 as if his knees were solid, but that's another thread.

In 97, Shaq had a mild knee sprain and sat only 1-2 gms before being sent out to play at Minny where he badly hurt his opposite knee, but that was a landing/freak injury a la Bynum. It was the only Laker game in which he wore kneepads and I think they must've cursed themselves after sending him out with concerns floating around that he was still favoring the other knee. Injury had nothing to do with that, but that seemed to be around the time when stoicism died (Kobe not included). Kobe was stoic because it was HIS choice, not the trainer's. They used to play Van Exel while he had little cartilage in his knee. They were content with letting him get nicknack arthroscopic surgeries instead of biting the bullet and seeking corrective treatment. He was knocking bones, played with one knee sleeve on. Late 90s... Around there seems to me to be a point at which mildly-to-moderately injured Lakers weren't sat out for vaguely-defined, open-ended stretches. Shaq had major surgery on that knee and was in a hard cast and a wheelchair and he came back to play in April. I have very little doubt that he'd have been nixed for the rest of the season if that happened today.

This is the first time since 2012-2013 (45-37) that we surpass 30 wins on a season

A .678 pace these last 16 games would put us at 41 wins.
