I take it back. Too many IG models for Porzingis in LA. I believe his IG girlfriend lives out here...

Another 14 minutes for him today...1-5 (3pts) 2 turnovers in 14 minutes.

I know he’s just coming back from injury, but he doesn’t look like he put on muscle, his face is noticeably bigger...think he just put on 10lbs or so of bad weight.

He will lose it, but 1-10 for 4 points 4 turnovers in 28 minutes in his return can’t be encouraging, it’s gonna bring his season numbers down. His 1-3 for 3 pointers today is gonna bring his average up..he was below 30% for the season if you can believe that.

Honestly, doesn’t look like we are missing out on much.

Careful what you say. DLO is known as the son of Zeus around these parts. LG is waiting for his next good game so they can finally release the Kraken. It's been a while since they've done so. 🐉

I love DLO. Wish he was still a Laker. My favorite Laker for two years. My history would prove that. But unfortunately what's done is done.

I always felt like Russell was better off trying to limit his bulk up top. His legs are thin and he's had knee issues. He's also not quick for a guard. Once he gets his base right then adding weight overall would be fine. But I doubt that was possible while rehabbing from knee surgery.

Dinwiddie is very impressive... Dude is not slow and can breakdown defenses.. More importantly, Dinwiddie can drive to the hoop for an easy 2 or draw defenses for the easy dime.

DLO is just coming back from injury. Give him a couple games. You guys are like jackals waiting for a bad game so you can pounce all over the narrative.
DLO is valuable. His value helped us unload Mozgod's horrible contract, get a pick in return, and nab Lopez's expiring.
He'll put up #s again when he's healthy. We just have to see if he can stay healthy.

Oh who might you be comparing him to? Certainly not the guy who is top ten in the NBA in field goals made per game off of drives, despite injury limited minutes?

This guy is eternally bitter that we didn’t draft Oak (who is now ironically DLo’s Teammate after being dumped).

Kobe did wind up loving him, and Byron told Russell to stop working so hard so he could save some for the game and find a routine.

So Russell took the advice and eased up a bit, and then Byron went to the media to bash his work ethic.

Don't think their relationship was salvageable after that.

Also I'm pretty sure the "teammates don't like him" thing was put to bed when his teammates all spent time around him and had fun with him when he came back to LA and he was seen messing around with Julius.

That and we already know that he and Larry were close, especially given Larry's reactions to when he was traded.

I think the only player that actually had an issue with him was Nick and even then, they were over it by the middle of last season, as teammates anyway.

Is this true?
If so, that's hilarious.
It's like reverse psychology didn't work.

Byron did that kind of thing a lot with Russell.

Even if you look back when Byron was still coach, you get the saying and Russell talking about how Byron wanted him to score more.

They asked him if that was the role he envisioned coming to the team, and Russell said no, he thought he was coming there to be the passer and playmaker and getting everyone involved.

But Byron told him not to, because he'll do it naturally so he wanted him to work on his scoring game as well as rebounding and playing hard.

THIS is the same Byron Scott who then went on to bench Russell for 'trying to take over the game.'

You can understand why Russell and Byron had a tumultuous relationship to say the least.

D'Angelo Russell works hard, so hard in fact that Byron tells him to save some for the game and ease up a bit,

Russell does it, Byron goes to the media and questions his work ethic while Kobe praises it. Russell and Byron have a problem.

Russell comes to the Lakers expecting to be the playmaker/facilitator, Byron tells him to focus on being a scorer because his passing is natural.

Byron also preaches that there needs to be players you will go into the foxhole with that aren't afraid of the big moment.

Russell listens to Byron, and focuses on scoring. Byron goes on to pull Russell from a game and bench him for trying to "take over the game".

When the player and coach have this kind of disconnect/inconsistency, there will be a lot of dislike between them. it's very easy to see why Byron and Russell had issues though.

You even have Kobe saying that "work ethic" with Russell, is never a problem with him.

Why? Because Russell had just gotten off the court after putting in the work after practice as he had every day which Kobe'd seen and known about. This is what prompted Byron to tell Russell to save some for the game and ease up a bit.

Thus when Russell did, Byron questioned his work ethic, and the ish storm started.

Kobe Bryant on his advice to Russell: "Just to continue to work. But that's never a problem for him. He's, I mean you see he just left the floor shooting. I mean he's been out here shooting for another 45 minutes after practice. So if he continues to stay that course he'll be just fine."

Kobe doesn't BS about that kind of thing. Particularly when you know how he and "working hard" go hand and hand.
