Yeah. Before his Achilles injury, Kobe played 17 years, and only three of those years were with a poor team. All in all, he can't complain about the quality of teammates he had. He got dealt a very good hand |
Yeah. 4 year wait in between FINALS.
Meanwhile, this will be our 5th year missing the playoffs. |

I agree. Although to me it's not about the amount of years that Kobe had poor teams, but rather the specific years in which it took place. Namely the 3-year stretch between 2005-2007, when Kobe was at his absolute individual peak. You give him adequate contender-caliber help those years when he was at his most unstoppable individually and you're almost guaranteed 2 more rings.
He had tremendous help throughout his career, especially in his early 20s and late 20s/early 30s. But most other "GOAT" players had their individual peaks coincide with their best teams. |
