I don't doubt Kobe could carry this team to that record, I just don't think it would be good for the team.

I would agree with you, except we have little chance of defeating the following elite teams within that span of 30 games:

Portland (three times)
Orlando
NO/OK (twice)
Huston
Sacramento (twice)
Boston (twice)
Golden State (twice)
Seattle (twice)

Two years in a row we have arguably the worst defensive PG in the business. You can't win with that.

There is no way KOBE can carry this team on his back with defenses tuned into him now. We have to get our role players to play hardcore defense or bench em. secondly we have to quit taking so many 3's our shooting % from inside the arc is 49% and 33% from 3. Phil needs to get on this teams back now or risk his first lossing season. BTW long time follower of lakerground first time poster.

This team still hasn't shown any kind of a 2nd gear. It's not gonna happen just because we think it should. Sometimes I think the guys on the team are waiting for it to just happen, like the P&G uniforms hold some kind of magical powers.

I would love for this team to just wake up one morning and get that they have to play hard for 48 minutes. But they haven't shown any inclination to do so. In fact, since the last part of the December, they've gotten progressively worse particularly on the defensive end.
