Can you place kick? Two openings in the NFL next week. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I have a dumb question...
You know when they say you should always try to win time of possession to tire out the other teams defense? Wouldnt you also be tiring out your own offense? |

I think that's because you use more energy on defense than you do offense. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Offense sets the tempo of the game. Those lineman will be huffing and puffing if you go too fast. |

Thought they were going to pull it out but the Raiders find a way to lose. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Keeps the opposing offense off the field and prevents them from building any momentum. |

Giants should be so much better on offense.
I’m blaming Eli |

I never could. When I was a kid playing, I was always the kicker for my team.....kicking off on a tee, but once I got in my teens and high school when you begin kicking FG's and XP's, I was terrible. Even in college before practice, I would have the kicker try to show me some tricks.....but I was just terrible. |

Not dumb at all. The big difference is that the offense knows the play and can direct their energy in one direction. The defense has to play multiple possibilities. And it is typically just linemen and rushers who really tire. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

As much as I love Saquon, it's going to look extraordinarily bad in a couple of years that the Giants passed on Sam Darnold for him. Eli Manning has absolutely nothing left, and they passed on the best QB in the draft for a running back. Again, this is nothing against Saquon. But he's a running back. (I saw at least 5 drops by Jets receivers today, including three by #89 alone.)
With Greg Zuerlein injured again, and with Minnesota's rookie kicker spitting the bit so far this year, we could see two Super Bowl contenders in LA and Minnesota battling over Dan Bailey.
Oh, yeah, how about the Browns' rookie kicker? I mean, they should be 2-0. It's like the Chargers all over again from last season with Koo. |

It is really only a stat that holds true if you have similar talent on the field, and I would say remains relevant mostly in the NFL where teams are running pro style less explosive offenses (because the defenses are so good). For example, my favorite college team won their first game 40-14 and their 2nd game 52-17.....and lost the time of possession stat in both games...Alabama's average margin of victory is over 50 points per game this season, and they are usually even in the time of possession in those games.
Even in the pros, if your offense is explosive and productive....time of possession does not really matter that much. The Eagles killed the Buc's in time of possession today....but lost the game. I would guess the Rams "Greatest Show on Turf" teams did not dominate in time of possession if they won it at all. It becomes an issue when your offense is 3 and out, while the other team has long drives. |

I was watching the game....I don't blame him...Bills went into the game without a gameplan. Pro football isn't something to do half ass. |

NFL football is basically a QB's league.Running backs are a commodity, you need them but they aren't necessary to win in this league. I think they went with Barkley because they want to squeeze a couple more years of Eli at QB. It also is short term thinking when most running backs retire around age 30 because of how punishing that position is.

it will be even worse because he is in the same city to remind their fans.....the bigger question I have is why do the Giants not have a decent young backup on the roster? They have a 30 year old that has played one game in his career, and a 22 year old rookie that played his college ball for the Richmond Spiders!
I told guys in this forum last year....Geno Smith is better than Eli....he just is. |
