Most scorers play zero defense, Kobe could play defense when he wanted but most of the time he rested during defense. Like I said IT is just small but he can take a charge, steal the ball, and be a pest and that's good enough for a dude that can give you 25pts off the bench.

If most scorers play zero defense, then IT plays negative defense. Some of it is out of his control given his size disadvantage but it is what it is. You have to remove him from games just like you remove terrible FT shooters late in games.

Look at IT he bleeds purple and gold, and he cares about our young talent unlike quite a few people who thought he would be a distraction... dude is gonna try his absolute best to push us towards a playoff spot, I can see him averaging 25-27PPG in these last 26-27 games... he said his hip is progressing so that’s good news.

Me: “Luke, does having Isaiah impact how much you can switch on defense?”

Luke Walton: “He was good at switching in the Dallas game. Again, it’s only been a few days, but in watching the film, every time he switched I think except for one possession, we got stops. We’ve done a lot of different defenses throughout the year. We’re gonna keep trying different ones and see what ones work best for certain groups. But he seemed to be fine in a switching defense last game, at least."

You would think with the way the game is played now "not that many post player bigs" and "no hand checking" that a small guard could thrive. I mean he did tear up the league last year. I'm thinking he will tear it up now our offense is perfect for him

Picture link please.

I can't believe some here doubt he really has been a Laker fan.....

"Thomas appreciated how his teammates on the bench would stand up and cheer every time that he shot. He likes how the young guys are constantly joking around with one another.

And he’s proud to rock the purple and gold like his favorite player, Kobe Bryant.

“I’m a lifelong Laker fan,” Thomas said. “My family’s from Inglewood, California, so I was brainwashed into being a Lakers fan as a young boy.”"

But he doesnt do those things homie. I cant believe you just put Kobe Bryant and IT in the same couple sentence.

At first I was inclined to believe Thomas was gonna be here for only 2 months. and now I’m leaning towards thinking that we will sign him to a short term contract if he can overcome the hip issues which it looks like he’s saying he can then we have a potential 28-30PPG scorer

signing Paul george for max would be good enough. then i think we should sign IT, Lopez, Randle on 1 year deals and go after another max in 2019.

i think that team above can get to 4-5th seed.

zo
ingram
hart
IT
PG
Randle
Lopez
Kuzma

He looks like someone who thrives in making the situation the best it can be sounds like we got a guy who understands what it means to be a Laker

I'm thinking he's gonna pan out bigtime and will lead the Lakers into the playoffs.

Trade Zo for high lottery pick and sign IT to a max contract.

I would rather that he doesn't try to "Put on a show" and instead focus on playing within our offense and team concept - including defense
if this turns into the "IT playing for his next contract show," it's gonna get really ugly really fast

If he can avg 25ppg for the rest of the season they're not letting him walk. You're talking about a guy who has gone toe to toe with Steph Curry and has actually won a match up or two. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7YatDfFxt_Q

Just last season Curry 26ppg 6.6apg 41%3pt Thomas 29ppg 6apg 38%3pt

#1 It is going to show this team how to practice/play hard?

#2 a reference to throwing his teammate under the bus back in the Land

#3 doesn't bode well...no practice no play here IT .

He's not a shutdown defender or anything, but he's head and shoulders above IT

Hopefully he could do it within our system. It should be beneficial to him in more ways than one

I agree with that but that video I posted there's a few plays IT actually played defense on.
