He's the perfect salary punt if the 2-max plan has to be delayed a year, would set up a bottom 3 finish and a shot at Zion Williamson in 2019.
The defense is broken w/o Nance, and with a guy who can't even funnel his man to his weaker hand, and who is also small enough to turn anyone in the post into an ad hoc playmaker (defense seems to break down every time, help D goes into 911 emergency scramble mode, 1-2 passes from a basket), 30-52 is happening. |

I’m fair , he’s an offensive juggernaut
But teams are going to punish Thomas on defense every night like the Mavericks did.
And Luke does not have the personnel to make up for it. We have no true 7 foot rim protector, which only makes things worse.
I don’t see how we can overcome this. I’m sure we’ll be able to outscore teams to some wins for the remainder of the season, but I doubt our defense will be as good as it was with the Nance/IT swap.
At least we have free agency to look forward to. |

Yeah and in essence it was for people who might have blamed IT for the game |

Yea IT man had 7 pts shut up |
defense is played on a string. One bad link and it all falls apart, and the man guarded by the weak link won't necessarily be the one who scores. The defense was falling apart time and time again because Carlisle was obviously going at IT. Not every time, but a lot.
I was actually very surprised how many minutes IT played tonight for his first game. So much for integrating him "slowly". |

Stop it. The Mavericks exposed Thomas damn near every time on the defensive end one way or another. |

Why does it have to go here? Does the Luke Walton thread need one too? Like i asked:

How about a separate coaching staff piss and moan thread?
What about a separate “Insert Player Name Piss and Moan Thread” for each of our players? |

False and the lead was lost with him on the bench but you can continue to push that narrative. the Lakers played horrible defense from start to finish. Funny how IT man had 7pts and he gets the blame when Dirk only scored 3 pts on him after all those switches lol ok _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Every time Isaiah’s in the game
It seems like the Mavs are basically saying- alright let’s get a switch onto the 5’8” guy and we will likely get a score one way or another!
Dirk you can shoot over him
Doug you can go right past him
(the kid I never heard of) you can become a post specialist at 6’7”
Etc. it’s painful to watch. |

Lol you are blind. Thomas was the root cause of most of the defensive breakdowns, while he was in the game. |

I thought it looked pretty obvious. Maybe they need to rewatch the game to really see it. I think people were just excited to see what he could do and subconsciously were overlooking the negatives. We're all fans so I won't judge.
In the postgame interview IT was talking about how he played well individually and how the young guys made mistakes defensively. No mention of his turnovers in the 4th. I'm no longer excited about the last few weeks of this season. Just end already. |
