Interesting assessment made during a recent broadcast but merits a discussion as the conclusions will be the foundation for future moves
Obviously we are talking about what our young core will be. Our young players playing with an elite team (JC and Jr) will thrive where they are the “Robins” to a “Batman.”
Note: Cavs and Celtics have proven what one strategic player can do - hence the requirement of getting two MAX Superstars is the only option
My POV
JC and Jr are great complimentary players but not superstars
Who could be our Superstar (not just an All-Star)
Randle - strong maybe
Ingram - strong possibility
Kuzma - strong possibility
Hart - strong maybe
Zubac - if so, could solve many problems
Bryant - if only he can come close to Embiid numbers, we would be set for years
They don’t watch games; so their opinion is not informed.
Sir Charles admitted on the radio today that he hasn’t watched an NBA game in 3 weeks because he is focused on the NCAA tournament.
that is really what you took from this post?
I read the title and that’s it; I also watched part of that laughable segment.
I guess that conversation is still better than you wanting to attach Lonzo to Deng just to get an old CP3 back. Are you so much of a Lonzo hater that you want to re-create the old and stale Cleveland Cavaliers team that just got blown up?
Ingram/Deng for torn achilles Cousins is also, in the words of Barkley, turrible.

Where's Ball? Did you forget the guy that is most likely to become a superstar?
Heck, he and his family/brothers are more popular than most "superstars" in this League already.

your response is ignorant....I have never said I wanted to do any of the (bleep) you listed.....am so over this "i do not like what you said, so I will deflect and try to defame you with some other (bleep)"...so weak

Ignorant? Nah, here is what you said on page 1007 of the FA thread

some get mad when I say it....but will not be shocked "if" Lebron & PG-13 come to the Lakers.....either Ball is used to move the Deng contract to sign Chris Paul....or Ingram is used to move the Deng contract to sign Cousins.....or one or both of them are used to move the Deng contract in a trade for a Superstar like Anthony Davis.
It’s cool...you do you. Just practice what you preach and don’t get personal man.
I'd say Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma, and Randle all have the possibility.
Lonzo I think is going to get there. He's just too talented.
Ingram has holes which need to be filled but he has some great tools (length, leaping ability) and has improved so much in the past year. If he can knock down jumpers at a high rate and continue to improve defensively he could get there. I think for him he's more likely going to be a very good all around player than a superstar because he rarely shows that type of killer instinct. When he has though he has had phases of looking unstoppable. That may just be a confidence issue.
Randle's ability to get there is going to be determined on if he can ever get his jump shot to a good level. If he can, you add that to his bully ball game which has become very effective and he's got a legitimate shot. He has the mentality and has shown the ability to step up in big moments. His length works against him down low though, and his inability to consistently hit jump shots limits his ability to drive without picking up offensive fouls.
Kuzma has a very high skill level offensively already. Improve the defense and rebounding and he has a shot, as well. He has the mentality to get there though.
I think Lonzo is likely a future superstar. The other three above have an outside chance.

Charles is an idiot, I can't listen to this guy for more than 3 minutes without disagreeing with him.
Two things amaze me about him:
1) That he still has a job on TV.
2) That as a former (Ring-less) NBA Player he has such distorted views of NBA reality.. _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”
I'd say top 5 players in the NBA. Players you can build a championship team around. Not just an all star, not just all-nba, but someone getting legitimate consideration for league MVP.
So I'd say: Harden, Giannis, Curry, LeBron and Durant are superstars. Borderline CP3, Anthony Davis, Westbrook.

So yeah, no the Lakers don't have any superstars.
True.
We recently had Kobe. Before that Shaq.
None of current Lakers are there yet and most likely will never be the same caliber.
That does not mean they can not win championships. I'm a strong proponent of team ball and always believe that five borderline all-stars when well coached will beat a team that relies on one superstar.

This seems like a hot, steaming bowl of Duh to me. Ball has a chance of becoming an all-NBA player if his three point shot becomes consistent and if he maintains his elite defense. Ingram's ceiling is still at that level, but I don't know that he'll ever get there. Randle could have a peak season where he comes close to that level. I don't see any of them as genuine superstars.
The rest of the group are nothing special, though they get overhyped around here.
Why are we looking at 2 max FAs? B/c none of our guys will be stars in the next 2-3 years IMO. They may in 4-5 years, but certainly not in the near horizon. BI/Lonzo need to physically grow first. But they're so young there's still a chance. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
That fat foouck Dumbo Charles has green eyed envy about the Lakers. He said we were playing terrible (after going 12-4 and having the 2nd best record in the league during that time frame). His disdain for us is crazy and he doesn't have an objective bone in his body.
Yes he is right. There are no Kobe's or LeBrons on
the current team. We'll see if anyone can really
step up. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !

On TV there are two types of individuals that attract an audience,
those we love and those we hate. No surprise Charles is on TV really. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !
