If Lakers are able to trade Deng without taking on additional salary, then they should be able to sign 2 max free agents as well as keep Randle's bird rights. 2 teams with sufficient cap space to absorb Deng's contract are the Hawks and Kings.

Hawks

Lakers get 2018 #34 pick
Hawks get Luol Deng, 2018 #25 pick, 2018 #47 pick, 2019 1st round pick

Hawks will end up with 2018 picks 3, 19, 25, 30, 47 and a 2019 1st round pick to continue their rebuild. They also have Cavs 2019 1st round pick (protected 1-10) and their own 2019 pick.

Lakers unload Deng's contract to retain Randle while being able to sign 2 max free agents. They should also be able to get a decent player with the 2018 34th pick in the deep draft.

Kings

Lakers get 2018 #36 pick
Kings get Luol Deng, 2018 #25 pick, 2018 #47 pick, 2019 1st round pick

Kings will end up with 2018 picks 2, 25, 47. They also get back in the 2019 1st round with the Lakers pick since Boston/Philadelphia owns theirs.

Lakers unload Deng's contract to retain Randle while being able to sign 2 max free agents. They should also be able to get a decent player with the 2018 36th pick in the deep draft. Time for Magic to call Vlade and ask for a favor.

Hawks/Spurs 3 Team Trade

Lakers get Kawhi Leonard and 2018 #34 pick
Hawks get Luol Deng, Patty Mills, Ivica Zubac and 2018 #25 pick.
Spurs get Dennis Schroder, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, and Lakers 2020 first round pick

Hawks will end up with 2018 picks 3, 19, 25, 30. They also have Cavs 2019 1st round pick (protected 1-10) and their own 2019 pick. They get Patty Mills to start at PG and Deng to mentor the young team.

Lakers get Kawhi while unloading Deng's contract. Frees up sufficient salary cap to sign Lebron James and Paul George to form a new Big 3 Super Team.

Spurs get Dennis Schroder, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, 2018 #47 pick and Lakers 2020 first round pick as compensation for trading Kawhi. They also send Patty Mills' long term contract to the Hawks.

Alternative of 3 team trade

Lakers get Kawhi Leonard
Hawks get Lonzo Ball, Luol Deng, Ivica Zubac, #25 pick, Lakers 2020 1st Round Pick
Spurs get #3 Pick, Brandon Ingram OR Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart OR #47 Pick

Future Trade Deadline Deal

If Lakers are able to unload Deng for picks only, they would be in perfect position to resign Randle. If Lebron and PG13 come to the Lakers, we can then make a package around Randle and a few of the young guys for a 3rd All Star. This means we would've missed out on Kawhi but could still form a Big 3.

or

Deng and Ingram to Atl for #3 and #19

I don't think it's realistic to swap Ingram/Deng for as many picks as you are hoping for. Look at history of salary dump trades, with the latest one being Mozgov. It was Bad Contract + Positive Asset for Nothing. You can break the deal down into 2 part: (i) what would it take to unload the bad contract and (ii) what would it take to get a top 5 pick.

If we break down the trades you listed above into the 2 parts, you give up Deng and Ingram for nothing as part of the salary dump and somehow we end up with 2 picks. I don't think there are any historical trades where the team dumping a bad contract received any picks in return, much less two.

Another example: Kings dump the salaries Nik Stauskas, Carl Landry, Jason Thompson to the Sixers. The Sixers received the right to swap picks with the Kings (at the Sixers’ discretion) in both 2016 and 2017 and the 2019 first round pick.

Trade Deng and Ennnis, for Gallinari

It's better to stretch him though

I would pull the trigger on the ATL #3 and #19 for BI and Deng, if Atlanta was stupid enough to do it.

Ball Curry Holiday(25)
PG 13 Hart Grayson(47)
LBJ Huerter(19) JJ
Randle Kuz Frye
Lopez Bamba(3) Bryant
