Make your case as to how your choice would happen with a post. Some pairings are less likely than others, but I listed the main options people talk about, as I'm curious what people's preferences are if all else was equal.
Edit- Forgot to add "No One" (Arya Stark voice) as an option.  |

My top choice would be PG this summer and AD in 2020.
It will be tight to sign AD as a FA under the cap, but it can be done, especially if they sign BI to a less-than-max extension. A small rise in the cap could also make it possible.
People think Boston can make an unbeatable trade offer, but that's not the case. AD isn't going anywhere for the next year and a half, and a lot will happen between now and then. Who do the Cs draft with the King's pick ? Who else do the Lakers draft ? How do Brown and Tatum develop ? Do the Lakers rent out cap space and acquire more picks ?
The Lakers could very well have the assets needed to acquire him, and Davis will have a large voice in determining his destination if he's traded. If he wants LA and LA only, it will make it much easier for the Lakers to trade for him.
There's also the chance the Pels don't trade him, but try to hang onto him, only to see him walk.
I wouldn't refuse Lebron if he wants to come this summer, but there's always a lot of drama around him and it speeds our timetable up a lot, whereas a 2020-2021 Lakers squad of AD, PG, 5th year BI plus 4th year Zo and Kuz, with Hart and three 1st rd picks filling out the bench, plus MLE and vet min guys would be ready to compete for titles just as the Ws are probably starting to fade.
I also would be ecstatic to add Kawhi or Klay next year, but AD is my top choice to pair with PG and our young core. |

Health aside...
AD would have to be my number 1. Second choice after that would be Leonard. Honestly, I'd be glad for the Lakers to get any combination of those players. We can worry about fit down the road.

sign PG to max
re-sign Thomas and Lopez to large 1 year deals
re-sign Julius to long deal at lower dollar amount
sign cheap vets/shooters
Lopez/Bryant/Zu
Randle/Kuzma/Ilyasova
Ingram/Bellinelli
George/Hart
Lonzo/Thomas/Jack

sign Kwahi to max for a core of:

Kwahi/Kuzma

George/Hart

Defensively, that's theist team in the NBA and just needs starting C for 18mpg and shooters to fill out the roster.
If AD starts to become available via trade, we've got more than the pieces to get him. Could end up with AD/Kwahi/George/Hart/Lonzo. |

Seriously though, I'll take the top-5 player all-time option. With PG. Which instantly gets us to contender status. Without gutting the team. Which opens up possibilities to get more stars down the road. |

Even though PG and AD is my #1 choice, having Lebron as the "bird in hand" would be incredible. I'd be very happy with that outcome this summer, despite the drama that inevitably follows Lebron.

Interesting that those 4 new players on the Cavs have really
elevated the total team play. Makes me think that we were
probably just one all star away from competing. Two would be
great but the right player can make us far better...
