Larry Nance Jr. says his mom tried to get him to move into basement after trade to Cavs

One of the coolest things about Larry Nance Jr. being traded from the Lakers to the Cavaliers was that he was going home to a team that retired his dad's jersey. But this week, Nance revealed, while laughing, that his family also made it tough to return home.

The 25-year-old told reporters that his mom asked if he'd like to move into their basement.

"Trying to convince my mom that I'm not living at home. We're out looking for rental properties and stuff like that, she's like, 'Oh, I've got, you know, our basement's pretty nice.' So that's probably been the toughest thing."

Was there anything Larry Nance Jr. has found that he wasn’t expecting in coming to Cleveland?

Nance is making about $1.5 million this year, so he'll probably be OK finding his own place.

Aren't moms the best, though?

Nance's dad, Larry Nance Sr. played for the Suns and the Cavs from 1981-1994 and won the Dunk Contest in '84.

Well, at least he'd save money on rent. Plus the free home cooked meals.

Sounds like a good deal.
