Anybody still watching?

They sure did milk Carl's death. Morgan has gone crazy killing people. I'm kind of getting sick of Negan.

Will this monstrosity ever end? I stopped watching a few years ago and I still feel like I watched one season too many.

I don't know why I watch it either. I wish it would end already. I need some closure!

I think you may have explained why I keep watching. I just want to know how it ends. But sadly I don't think we will find out this decade. I think I'm gonna give up and then tune back in in a few years when they announce the series finale.

And yet you do. Even more curious, why is this thread still generating comments? It's like Sam's Club pizza. You know it's not good, and yet you still get a slice whenever you shop there.

It's like the fascination with why people love Jack in The Box tacos when there is no justification to. Is it the taco sauce? The crunch? It's definitely not the filling.

That had to be television's longest death scene. I ended up fast forwarding through a lot of it towards the end while yelling, "Just die already!" at my TV.

I do hear this a lot lately.....I still enjoy to a degree. I though the introduction of Shiva would be the end for me....but I slowly got past it.

Glad Carl is gone.

I quit watching after the mid season finale last season. I keep telling myself I'll get caught up but never do and then totally forgot the new season was starting.....

But hey, Carl is dead? Maybe this season will be worth a go.

It's funny that the show is called The Walking Dead.
Because that's how I'd describe the status of the program.
It's the walking husk of a show that used to be exciting and alive. But now it just keeps pushing forward. Trapping viewers and slowly killing whoever runs into it while channel surfing.

New episode was an upgrade... they went into the back story of Simon and Jadis... Jadis stopped talking like a science fiction character... More development and less pretty montages that play like filler in a 10 page essay one writes when they haven't got anything to say.

If they continue to work on the characters, they might be able to salvage the show.

not digging these signs pointing to Negan living happily ever after.....love the actor (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and performance....but Abraham and Glenn cannot be forgiven. Once bitten, should have used Carl in suicide mission to take Negan out.

Good to know. TWD has dropped down to last on my Sunday night list of shows. I watched the first minute of the episode, saw Michonne crying, and put it off til later in the week.

Morgan's transformation into a killer might be the start of his character's departure story for the anticipated crossover with FTWD.

Is it fitting that this show has become a zombified version of itself?

I always forget this show exists now. I used to watch it up until the last season. The cliffhanger with Glenn and Abraham dying killed me. That showrunner needs to go.

COMIC SPOILERS:

In the comics, Neagan is taken prisoner at Alexandria for a couple years then ends up joining Ricks group. So, it's pretty comic accurate.

this show has taken a nose dive since Negan showed up, it became just "war" with little character development. A far cry from the first few seasons where the show was actually entertaining. Seems like the writing of the show has taken the road of the Fear the Walking Dead which is horrible. Where is this show going? What's the goal at this point? It's just so stagnant and with way too many characters, we don't see some characters for weeks and weeks.

I havent watched the recent episode but if I continue to watch I may just fast forward through the rick/michonne cry fest. The Negan scenes are always good because JDM kills it.

It's been about "war" for quite some time since they established there was no cure and everyone who survived has to fend for themselves. They teased us a bit with false hope for a cure when Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene joined the group back in season 4 but since then it's been one would-be tyrant/warlord hell bent on conquest ever since.

The zombies have been marginalized to where they're only a threat in large numbers but we only get a few of those episodes per season. I don't know if that's how it is in the comics but I suspect it has more to do with production costs involved in shooting scenes like that.

They need to either start working on a big story shift for this show or start working on a final season strategy.

So I just watched Sunday's episode and tbh I don't remember what happened. That's how much attention I paid to it and how much I care about this show at this point.

And yet we keep watching. Granted it has taken dive since it's first few seasons, but it's still better than half the crap on TV.
