Could they afford him? Wouldn't he have to be one of those 2 max contracts? |

Agreed, and for the right price yes, come on down IT7! |

I'd rather have IT than KCP or Lopez for a second year. It depends on how the other FA's shake out. |

His cap hold is so low that they could sign George, re-sign Julius, and bring back IT for a deal above the cap while seeing if Lopez would be willing to take a room exception deal. Basically they'd just be upgrading (significantly) from KCP to PG13.
Obviously it all depends on the size and length of the deal IT wants (pause), and whether the Lakers think he's worth compromising the two max plan for given his recent post-injury decline. But I'm down with the idea of Boston IT starting with Lonzo and I particularly like the idea of IT as a super sixth man behind a starting perimeter trio of George/Ingram/Ball.
In the end, though, I think the timing and situation make it unlikely IT comes back next season. |

KCP and Brook are not coming back so we don't have to worry about that. |
You sure Brook won't be back? |

Loved Lou but Isaiah is a way better playmaker. |

Sure, why not? I don't think he's part of Plan A, but the off-season could go a ton of different ways. I can't imagine many teams are lining up to pay IT big money either. |

Hmm, any idea where a likely place IT goes next season? Assuming he finishes the year strong, I certainly wouldn't hate the below:
Ball/IT/Caurso
George/Hart/
Ingram/George/Hart/Kuzma
Randle/Kuzma
Brook?/Zubac/Bryant |

He seems to have great chemistry with the young guys and adds a veteran leadership that we did not have previously. He makes you want to believe. Fun player to watch when he's going like he did against Miami last night! |
IT is looking for the biggest deal he can get, so it's all going to depend on how he finishes out the season and what offers he can get. The guy is pushing 30 and has never had a really big contract so I doubt much matters to him other than maximum $$ |

I'm increasingly of the mind that if we could just add PG to what we already have, that would give us a pretty solid contender. _________________ Not a legend |

If one of the elites isn't LeBron then we need to sign IT. There's no way we can rely on Lonzo's skinny body for 82 games. Point Ingram has been decent but the last few games should show the difference between having a competent replacement and someone actually good at his position.
I'm also fine with Seth, but no one has showed me any information that would lead me to believe he has a specific interest in us, or that we have any inside track. |

What if the maximum money was either 4 years $50 mil or 1 year $18 mil.
Which would he take? |

Screw the 2 max contracts. Just get PG if we can, re-sign Jules and see if Brook will stay for cheap.
I am hearing very divergent info on IT's hip and that would be my main fear about signing him long term. If his hip is ok going forward I would offer IT a contract- he has fit in with the team a lot better than I thought he would and having a guy who can close out the 4'th quarter is worth a lot.
If IT gets a big offer, then let him walk. But I think his age and injury concerns will limit his FA offers. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

I would do one year $18 for sure- assuming the 2 max thing is officially dead. That works for everyone. He gets a big payday, we can evaluate him and see how that hip heals up and we don't have a long term commitment to him. Deng will actually be movable when he is an ending contract and we could again have some capspace for a free agent. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |
