Every playoff team has at least 1 player who takes pride in their defense.

Do we have a guy like that right now?

Zo, Randle, Hart.
I also like KCP & Lopez.

If I had to pick one, it'd be Randle just based on the fact he can cover 1-5.

Zo.

It's the reason we win with him, despite his horrible shooting.

Pundits only look at points scored.

There is an entire other side of basketball.

Tough question because Hart, Zo, JR, KCP, and BI are all very good defenders. I am going to miss KCP but the pain will immediately go away when we sign PG.

Randle hands down. BI, Hart and Lonzo have shown good defense but Randle had gone to that elite level for long stretches of games

Randle is not an ELITE defender, he's great in some aspects (like his ability to defend perimeter players when we switch), but there are other aspects where he's far from elite. For example :

Totally agree. The player I’m choosing to defend an opposing player in the final moments is Randle.

I'll go with Randle, Ball, Hart for best defensive player. I agree, he's not elite, (at least not yet) but there have been times that he's had elite defensive possessions.

Perhaps he'll become an elite defensive player over time if he truly decides to dedicate himself to becoming one.

If you mean a defensive specialist, no. There is no one on this team who regards himself as primarily a defensive player. There are a number of guys who take pride in their defense, even if they aren't very good at it.

Probably KCP. But Zo is good too.
Randle is a pleasure to have because unlike most big men he’s not a stiff afraid to step out and guard the perimeter

I’d say that’s pretty misleading. Lonzo is not a better on ball defender than Hart KCP or Ingram

But they aren't better team defenders than ball so it's a matter of who you think has a bigger effect over all

Finally, a thread where we have have a lot of different answers. Usually there's two sides that we fight over.

Zo.

And yeah, he's a better man-defender than KCP, Ingram. Arguably Hart.

When Randle is playing defense at his peak, he's probably the best defender. But I feel he's just too inconsistent on that end. He shows it in flashes.

KCP's defense started out overrated, but then as the season progressed, it became underrated.

Zo and Hart have probably been the most consistent defensive players we've had. Great draft class for us!

Of course, Nance was my favorite Laker but he'd win this by a landslide if he were still on the team. I really loved watching him play defense. He could switch on pick n rolls and still protect the rim. Miss that guy.

Hands Down Hart. Randle when he wants to be, is no slouch either but too inconsistent defensively
