Power Rankings

The Lakers are 12 in SI power rankings. How they are playing as of this moment.
Ahead of wizards, Wolves, OKC, Spurs, and even CAVS.

Will miracles never end?

I said we were top ten last week.

We beat the Spurs and almost beat Portland playing like garbage and we haven't even signed our two elites yet.

The sentimental side of me wants to just roll with this team and see how far we get but I know that isn't wise from a pure basketball standpoint.

But yes... only the Warriors/Rockets/Raptors/Healthy Spurs, Celtics, Cavs, and TWolves really bother me. Maybe Pelicans and Nuggets and Sixers if Fultz gets good.

Link is busted OP. That being said I agree with SM that we are playing like a top 10 team right now. I will take 12 tho. This same team next season can finish above 500. If Lebron comes he will get all the credit for the hard work these young guys put in to improve. Hopefully we just add pg13 and roll out the same young core with him.

Yeah I hope we get to .500 at least so agents like LeBron won't get all the credit next year

We should have been in that 3 thru 10 mix if no one got hurt... but what can you do, a lot of other teams had even worse injuries.

Go to the Sports Illustrated page and look for power rankings.
It should be all there.

I copied the URL and put it between the url that when I pressed
link gave me. But it did not process it so you have to copy the
url and put it on your web browser.
But it is SI and easy link to find. Under NBA.

I haven't posted a topic yet but couldn't resist as it was
amazing to read. Don't know if it was accurate.

You must remember that the Lakers was 29 or 31 last year.
That was second to the worst in the NBA.
Or close.

What happened in one year to create such a change?

If Portland is four then we are the fourth best team... because we were better than the Blazers... We choked... they didn't win.

Everyone that was already here grew up.(JC/NANCE- when they were here). BI, Randle.

WE got a real big man in Lopez that can also block shots and make some threes.

We got a real perimeter defender in KCP that can also shoot the 3 and is athletic.

and last but not least we drafted Zo, Kuz, and Hart.

They had to be better than last year with the lopez and kcp moves alone.

then to add in IT as he gets back to healthy status.

we didnt choke. we came in banged up without hart or ingram. and we were just missing open shots. it happens. D.lillard did what he always does. but i agree. i think we're better than them. my healthy team vs theirs in a series and we can beat them.

great assessment, although i wish we threw a double team at Lillard when he was getting hot at the end

Not surprised, the team has been playing brilliant ball for a while now and frankly if you put BI and Hart into the squad for the Portland game we would have won that as well. I think unless we get BI back quickly then we're going to limp to the finish line unfortunately. Those two injuries put paid to my hopes for winning 38 games this season.

The loss against Portlan stung — a lot — precisely the Lakers are getting good again and their wins matter. During their nine-game losing streak, I had low expectations and took each loss in stride. Now I want them to win and feel they can win every game if they are at full strength. It hurts a lot to be missing two of our best wings.

This next game against Magic will be telling...hopefully last game was a blip in terms of what happened down the stretch and the Lakers come in with a strong game against the Magic to put them right back on track and building momentum....will be disappointing if they come out flat
